Come on, Chin Up!

I sometimes feel envious of other people because they can relax during the weekends. For me, I need to work. It is given that my students online are available these days. The best thing to do is to convince me and say this statement: 'Come on, chin up!' I am not a whiner. Being a human being, I sometimes feel tired and lazy. Thus, Saturday and Sunday are my busiest days.
How do you convince yourself to do something?
Do you need inspiration?

But you need to take a rest as well. Goals and motivations are important but we need to learn to relax. Work life balance.

Sometimes Pretty tells me, "Come on, dad, we have to get this done... " So I go and get it done.
You'll be okay, Shavkat. Just think about when you'll come here to visit. All you'll need to do is sit around, eat my cooking and visit... or tell me to leave you alone and sit or lie in bed all day.

@DaddyEvil You are too young to lose your old man. I must admit that it is not my cup of tea for cooking. I can cook with the help of a recipe book. Now, it is easier with the help of YouTube. It seems like your mother was so preoccupied during your teen years.

@Shavkat You are correct. She can be quite pushy! (If/When we want to be left alone we each go into our own bedroom and close the door.
)
I'd be happy to teach you how to cook, or just as happy cooking for you.
I've cooked for Pretty, friends, and girlfriends since I was about 13. (When my dad passed away, my mom stopped cooking, so I took over.) I've had plenty of practice. (Pretty learned to cook by watching me cook for us since she was around 5 years old.) Sometimes she cooks, sometimes I cook.
So far, I haven't poisoned anyone... and my friends that eat my cooking tell me they would get fat if they kept eating at my house!

I agree. I sometimes feel lazy since I don't have offs as well. But being a writer has it's perks. I only have to work 4 to 6 hours a day.

I don't stop working even on weekends. I am not as lucky as others who get promoted in the job without much effort. But I know how to make money my own way. I don't want to be left behind at least in terms of earning. And that's what motivates me to work even harder.

@Shavkat The funny thing is I have a colleague who follows me on my social media account and asking me to teach her how to work online. So I asked, why would you need to? You salary is more than twice my salary? You don't need to have an extra job. Her answer, my children are in college. Another colleague asked me, when will you sell your car? What? Why would you wait for me to sell my car? Buy a new one, your salary is higher than mine. His reply, I don't know why my salary seems not always enough. I admire you for handling your finances well. See, we are also lucky in other ways. Knowing the online platform is something we should be proud of.
When I want inspiration, I just count my blessings.

@ARIES1973 It seems some people are not contented with what they have. It has been a long time that I am living simply. It is none of my business to interfere with their lifestyle. I also think that God continues to bless me and be thankful for them.

I am just saying it in a positive way. Because of this pandemic, it affects my mentality about it. But, not that serious.
