One good turn - we find a wheel when we need it

We are expecting around 14 people tomorrow for a barbecue. They are Vince’s golfing friends and their wives. We don’t use the barbecue very often. Vince thinks barbecuing is the ruination of good meat and, as he is the main cook, what he say goes. What I think doesn’t matter (that’s a joke).
I dusted off the cobwebs on the barbecue and noticed one wheel had collapsed. I thought there was a wheel in the shed and luckily I was right. With a bit of trouble, Vince was able to replace the broken one. What I thought was interesting was that the one from the shed has been in our possession well over the 16 years we’ve lived here. But we didn’t throw it out and now, just when we need one, we have one. It's amazing how eventually many things we've kept, save our bacon, so to speak.
The gas bottle is nearly empty too but luckily there are two on the front of the caravan so we’ll bring up one of them and be cooking with gas tomorrow.
Photo is of the sign in Vince’s shed.

Isn't that always the way? As soon as you toss, you have a need for it.

Sometimes holding onto things isn't a bad thing at all. You just never know. Glad you had the extra wheel on-hand, and it worked.

@wolfgirl569 I always had carts for my pet lambs and goats. In the outback goats were used to cart sandalwood. Decades ago of course. This is probably the last one I ever rode in. I was getting too big!

I save things like that too, but the problem is when I need it, I usually can not find it. For instance, I ran out and bought a coffee pot last month, and then Inoticed I had one in one of the cabinets..oh well..

You never know when you'll find a use for things - even 16+ years later.

That's great you had a spare wheel in the shed and have gas bottles too so you can have a successful barbecue tomorrow.

I love the sign. It's amazing what we keep and eventually find a use for. Hope you are having a good time at the BBQ.
