The Horse is under attack!

I thought that @Vandana7 had canoed across my moat and was attacking me for rejecting her absurd slide requests for my music posts. But as I awakened, and stumbled toward my door, I realized what it must be. The sound was different from what Kitty makes, and different from what Kitty and her boyfriend make. I knew it to be raccoons. When I "busted" them, they were trying to carry off Kitty's dry food, which is in a fairly thick bag. They were three juveniles. One dared to growl at me, and I growled back. I won. As they fled, I went down the stairs and retrieved the cat food bag they had dragged about eight feet. Kitty appeared (from the tundra) about ten minutes later, shaken but not stirred, and is now asleep on my bed. Have you been under attack recently?

Oh yes, I am under cats attack every day from a bit of time now. We do not have raccoons here, they are cute, but can be dangerous.

@TheHorse They are cute, we have martens here, they are cute, they cause a lot of damages, they chew the electric cables of the cars. Here is a marten, look how cute this little animal is!

They are very assertive here. But they are cute at the same time.

So facing raccoons is preferable to facing Vanny?

If Kitty were human, I would consider the raccoons to be the "bad crowd." Stoners and fast car drivers, I'm sure.

@crossbones27 I am still checking out Kitty's boyfriend. I noticed his ear is not clipped, meaning he could be on the edge of the bad crowd (not fixed).

My goodness! They were able to drag the cat food bag? Those little marauders with masks are very inventive.. Nope, I haven't been under attack recently.

I was once scratched by a cat when I was eight. She scratched my eyebrow and left a beauty mark for lifeThat made me phobic to them. Also, I am allergic to them. Well this is a scary tale and you are really brave to growl back and win

Our garden gets attacked by moles! This year only a few carrots were nibbled. Last year I would dig up a bunch of carrots and be holding a bunch of carrot tops only.

No, but did have a break in this year. Got a deadbolt lock from landlord. But not much was taken. My Mother's old camera, some food and they probably got interrupted and left quickly leaving my door wide open!!!! Reported it to police. I'm so glad you caught the little furry thieves. It's Kitty's food and very expensive too.

@TheHorse Came down and looked at my place, gave me a report number. My neighbor got their car stolen. Others too had breaking or their car broken into. We discussed it and pray for protection aside of police reporting. My neighbor's car insured so they got a new car.

Just by my sciatica. Once we kept my sister's dogs for a while. Big dogs, big food. I got a metal trash can with a tight fitting lid. The raccoons could take the lid off. So we put a 75 lb metal tool box on top of the trash can. Those beggars worked together to knock it over and still got into the dog food. It was comical to see. Alarming to hear the tool box hit the floor of the porch.

A couple of days ago monkeys got near my house. I thought it was the chicken making all the noise. Turn out those monkeys were trying to get the papaya. It was a few seconds of silent between us before I yelled at them and they run for their life. The perks of living near the wood. You get surprise visitors at time.

Yeah, that’s it, blame Vanny for not being able to control your own zoo! My squirrels charge up the driveway from across the street when they hear the garage door open. A couple of weeks ago I went in the house and left the garage door open (it’s detached, don’t worry), and when I came back out there was a squirrel ambling out of the garage with cobwebs on its nose. Apparently it had been in search of the elusive peanut stash. It scampered around the corner then quickly returned and waited patiently for its peanut.
