Yup, I was committed to self quarantine by my employer for exposure to covid. I'll be out until the 17. Gives me some time to hopefully be on Mylot. This covid virus has hit the company hard. Lots of people out. I feel fine, normal. Worked the whole week, plus saturday. Within the hour of when I left work saturday, I got a call and told to self quarantine, return to work on the 17, if all is good with me. Good thing as a welder, is that i'm always wearing some sort of mask. N95 particulate mask or bandana, depending mostly on what welding process i'm doing. I'm also not near people while working. Minimal conversation or interaction with fellow employees. Overall, this year has been very . . . um. . . challenging. Anyways, thought i'd just drop by to say hi and see whats going on. See ya on Mylot ! Photograph- Taken, Owned by me, Plethos

Plus all that heat, it must come outside of work if people getting it or when they not welding. I hope you good bud and sometimes its nice to get a break even though not a good way to get a break. Working people can do everything right and still get it. I work from home so I do not have nearly the risk., but heard people do everything right but work and they still got it.

my job is agriculture related. so the guys who deal with the public a lot are more at risk. our location hasnt been hit hard compared to another location in another town about 10 miles away, i think ive heard as high as 20, but i think its closer to around 13. dont be surprised at higher prices on iceberg lettuce this winter.

@Plethos Yeah, I am sure there is a solution to this besides a vaccine which hopefully we will get in a few months but to many dumb people being political instead of just saying its real.

I am glad you used to wear a mask or a bandana, I think you should be fine. Stay at home and use this time for something you put aside to do for the days "you have more time" Keep safe. It's nice to see you back.

Enjoy your time... I've been out on Covid leave twice this summer. I didn't have it either time. It was nice to get two paid vacations this year. Now, if I could just keep sickos far enough away from me so I don't have to worry about catching it...

As you say, welding would be as good an occupation as any when there is a pandemic around.

That was a responsible thing to do by your employer to let you quarantine and protect you and others from getting infection or spreading it to others if you have them.

@Plethos Better be safe and sure that no one is carrying and spreading the virus in the workplace. The virus cannot multiply if there’s no victims to transfer to so they naturally die when they fail to find a live host.

with me now out, theres no one to work in the shop. i was basically the last man standing. no welding for the next 2 weeks at my company. theres only 1 office person left, she may also be told to self quarantine.
