Can’t Eat This

My son’s girlfriend loves everything about Christmas. Over the weekend the two lovebirds made a gingerbread house. This was a first for my son. When he’d found out it wasn’t edible (made from a kit), he baked a cake to eat. He told us about it when he stopped by for a visit earlier. We visited in our garage. Hubs plugged in two heaters to keep us warm. We all wore masks, coats, and hats. It is a bitter cold day here. Snowstorm is on the way later today. Bring it on! We are ready for anything.

It's a tradition to have one in her home for Christmas, but she left it at my son's house. Oh, well. lol Just turned the heat up and the fireplace on.

They did a great job on the gingerbread house. It is too bad that they can't eat it.

Is it made of wood? That looks good. When I made gingerbread houses, I gave them to my relatives in the Netherlands. We all didn´t want to eat them because they were pretty but then we had to eat them after Christmas. Yummy!

It is real gingerbread, but came in a kit. I'm sure it will be very dusty by the end of the holiday season.. And it's funny, but no one that I know personally enjoys the taste of gingerbread.

I've never seen one except in stores or in pictures or film. Mom never made one, she said she didn't want to waste perfectly good food.

Most mothers are like that. I've never made one for obvious reasons, but apparently this will last his girlfriend throughout the Christmas season. It's a tradition in her family. Don't know why she's leaving it at my son's house.

I bought the kit to make one at Ikea, but I am not sure that I am going to bake it, the husband would not eat the artwork.

You know I like snow pictures. I cant live by Valerie's pix alone (I hope her feelings will not be hurt.). Send pix! That's a pretty GB house. Can we at least eat the icing? Happy Hanukkah as well, by the way! I'm going to light a candle or two right now. One more day.

@kobesbuddy Nice! Being Jewish, we never did, nor our grandkids. My grand daughter told me this morning she was going to skating practice. We were gabbing and then she disappeared to get dressed. I was left hanging.
