Hard times - be there for someone

These are hard times for many people. Just this time of year without all that is going on is hard on some people and this year it is even harder due to the pandemic. I know there are many who get sad due to the holidays and missing family that they might not be able to get together with or that have passed on. This year with many places still restricting travel and get togethers it’s going to be even harder on some people. Try your best to contact people and let them know you are there for them even if you can not be there physically. Check in on each other and let them know they matter. This time of year, and this year for sure, stay in contact with family and friends. Your phone call or visit could mean so much to them. Being there for someone can make a world of difference. Take care of yourself and each other. Know there are people who care. Feel free to send a private message if you need to, I don’t have the answers but I certainly can listen.

That's what we do here. I just found out that one of my friends has to remain in quarantine because one of the providers for her mother had covid, we talk on the phone and text, it's all we can do for now.

Yeah, we can only do what we can, I talk to my parents at least once a week. I can not see my father right now since he is fighting cancer and does not want to take to many visitors.

@Bensen32 Our state has just closed its borders again after new cases in the East. Some who have just arrived will now have to go into quarantine again.

@Bensen32 Many elders will be alone for the holidays this year. Our Mayor has appointed volunteers who are ready to visit those who feel too lonely.

I totally agree with you. This year has been a a challenging year for everyone especially when it comes to celebration. We cannot just celebrate special occasions just as how we celebrate them before. Just like you said, travelling has also have its limitation. Going to a place to meet your friends and family is not the same as before and it is just sad knowing that you cannot celebrate with them. True enough, we can tell them how much we love or miss them through online platforms or through phone calls but it is still different when you can hug or kiss them. Let us just hope everything will get better in the coming months so we can experience again all the things we want to do like spending time with our loved ones.

Yes, a phone call is not the same but it is better than nothing. We have to stay in contact any way we can.
