Was I Dreaming or What?

I woke this morning and turned to answer my phone. All the covers slid off the bed. I pulled them up quickly so the child sleeping next to me would not be cold. Only there was no child. I live alone and have no young children or grandchildren. Where did this little one come from?
It was all so weird. There was no child and I know it was there. I am so confused. What do you think? Is there some explanation for this?
Has anything like this ever happened to you?

Oh good. It's not just me. When I start to doze off, all kinds of crazy things start to happen. I think things are there that aren't, that people are there that aren't. I will even start to do something, only to realize I was dozing and it wasn't real.

Some dreams feel so real. I once woke up and as soon as I opened my eyes I screamed to my husband: "Please save the blue rabbit. I don't want it to get hurt" I was absolutely sure that a blue rabbit was climbing around on top of the bookcase, and I was scared that it would fall down and get hurt. It was a dream, there are no blue rabbits in our home
but I still remember the feeling very clearly. I was so worried about that rabbit.

@akalinus No, I have only seen it once. I am wondering why it was blue. I have 5 real rabbits in my home, and a stuffed rabbit which is pink, but no blue rabbits. Like your red bird the blue rabbit seemed so real.

@Porcospino The blue rabbit and red bird must be symbols for something in our lives, but what?

I wake up, thinking I am somewhere else... but once I'm awake, I can't figure out where I thought I was... Pretty tells me I talk to people in my sleep that moved away years ago...
Why do I do that? It's so bizarre!

@akalinus Uhm... have you had a new baby and just didn't want to tell us? If you're worried about not having a husband while having a new baby, I will marry you.

@DaddyEvil No new baby here, only the imaginary one. If only I was younger.

Somewhere in existence there is a child and you were their comforter.
In my other circle of friends, we would likely call you a rescue worker.

@Namelesss Thanks for telling me that. It makes me feel better about it. I do not know if the child was a boy or girl or how old. It was just there.

@akalinus Seems to me you are doing the same thing in your NP (non-physical) reality as you did in your PR (physical reality). Although a lot of people think this is woowoo, there are also a lot who have such experiences as yours. We know what we know and our experiences are just as real as what we call reality. The brain does not seem to know the difference and perhaps there isn't one.
With the kids you surrounded yourself with it would seem only natural that kids from the NPR would also want that same comfort.
It's a good thing.

The closest I guess was when I rolled over and thought my husband had overslept and it turned out our dog at the time Chance was sleeping with his head on the pillow but for a moment I was freaked out. Al never oversleeps.

Have you wanted a child? Are you grieving or missing someone?

@akalinus A few years ago my mother had once seen a woman cooking in our kitchen at midnight. She thought it was my sister-in-law, but my sister-in-law was fast asleep in her bedroom.A few minutes later my mother found the kitchen shut and the woman was not there.

@Shivram59 You know that if your mother said someone was there, they were.
