He’s on a Diet and Doesn’t Know It

Cold weather and less activity isn’t helping my husband. I noticed his tummy growing larger, and because I love him, I don’t want to kill him with food. So, I put him on a diet, yesterday. He eats what I have in the house. He eats what I cook. I don’t have junk food in the house. I won’t cook him heavy, fattening meals, nor serve him breadsticks, gravy, or sugary desserts. He doesn’t know he’s on a diet, because I didn’t tell him. However, he will be getting a pizza later this week from Chicago. Hey, I have to eat, too!

Reduced calorie diets basically never work in the long term, it is better to make permanent changes (like adding extra vegetables to your main meal) and taking things slow.

You had a good excuse to gain weight. Your back problems and the holidays. You will knock off when you are ready.

I am still fat despite of cooking at home with no sugar. I suspected that it is the air that I breath in to make me slightly ballooned.

@DianneN Kasey wants to know which is your favorite and how you enjoyed it, one of hers was great and the other not as good.

Thanks to you I ordered a total of 16 pizzas from our favorite place in Chicago. Don’t ask. I’d order a pie if we ate sweets and hubs wasn’t on a diet. Sounds delicious!

@BelleStarr Lou Malnati’s. The boys took hubs to Chicago for a long weekend for Father’s Day several years ago and they tried a few deep dish pizza places. Giordanos was good, too they said. Hubs took me to Chicago, but I only had Lou Malnati’s and loved it. None of us are crazy about deep dish pizza, but when in Rome......lol. I figured it would be a fun surprise. Besides, he’ll never guess he’s on a diet if I throw it in. Btw, which one did Kasey like?

There is no rule that a diet has to deprive. I know you love him and take very good care of him this way.

As the house chef, we also have to be the house nutritionist . That's smart to not say anything about a diet . . . just hearing the D word makes it harder. A pizza is a good cover, then he won't suspect you are putting him on any diet .
