Fun News- Augie The Dog Turns 20!

This happy event happened last spring during the height of the virus pandemic. Dogs usually have a life span between 10-17 years depending on the breed and size of the dog. So, when I came across this story about a Golden Retriever named Augie, I found it quite a surprise. Especially since the lifespan of Golden Retrievers is 10-12 years. Guess this white-faced golden could be called an "ageless wonder" among her breed. After all, that's 114 years young according to the sources who calculate dog years. And that isn't the best part of this story. Augie was rescued at 14 from the pound by a couple who figured no one would want to adopt a dog that age. Little did they know their pet would still be around 6 years later. The owners say "She can still move around well (although she’s a bit shaky when she first gets up) and enjoys daily walks around the yard." Hopefully this Tennessee Golden Retriever gets to celebrate another birthday come April 24th. Wishing Augie a belated birthday, and she better get a "big treat" on that day!
