Do You Have a Collection of Cookie Cutters?

When the kids were little, we went through cookies as if there was no tomorrow. And of course, they always wanted them to be fancy. That began my collection of cookie cutters. I was just thinking about them and wondering what ever happened to them? I knew that I would never have thrown them away... with all the memories connected to them... so where are they?? I have decided to buy something that comes in a LARGE JAR, so that it can become the new home of my cookie cutters... when I find them again. With all the moves that we have made over the last few years, they are likely packed away in a box that has never been opened! I guess this is the year to start opening some of those boxes. Have to admit, all the walking that I'm doing is wearing me out lol. I need something to take care of the boredom and opening boxes won't be quite so tiring lol!!! So, now it's your turn... tell me about at least one of your cookie cutters. :)

I used to have a big collection of cookie cutters. My girls have my cookie cutters now and are baking for their own children.

I was cleaning out a cupboard the other day and spied the cookie cutters I thought we'd donated. I guess we didn't donate all of them. We have Simpson themed plastic cookie cutters. An acquaintance of mine brought round cookie cutters that were packed in a nice tin. Apparently they belonged to her mother and before that, she thinks maybe her grandmother.

What a nice collection that must be... yours and your friend!! I don't remember if Nanny used them or not and now, its kind of late to ask. I know that Mom did!!

I have three containers of cookie cutters, I used to have cookie baking days with my oldest crop of grandchildren. The oldest seven came all the time. The last three lot out, they are too spread out in ages.

As soon as I locate them, I will have to see which granddaughter wants to bake with me the next time they come over. I wonder what cookie cutter they will choose?? They all have such different personalities!

Actually, I use the round scalloped one now for biscuits. They are made of plastic so here's hoping that they don't break. I have had them forever.

I finished today's walk, so I just might go down to the basement and look for a box to open. There are a ton of CDs that are missing too that I just realized. I have all the plastic cases but they are all empty!

You know I used to. I have a storage locker I haven't been to in years, ex pays for it. I think there is probably a big bag in there. I need to go there and sort out my stuff. I have wanted to do it for years.

I may be moving in a couple of years. About two years ago I realized that I had cookie cutters everywhere. Some I had when daughter was small. So I gathered quite a few into a cloth bag that one of my sisters gave me and boxed them and mailed them to daughter. And there are still cookie cutters in my house. Christmas time means sugar cookies. Not fancy and not frosted but tasty anyway.

Sounds as if you have passed the cookie baking trait along to your daughter. And yes, Christmas definitely is a time for sugar cookies!! I got a lot of boxes of shortbread for Christmas this year, so someone obviously thinks that you can never have enough!!!

I'm hoping that I find what I once had... I can't remember how many times I used them when the kids were little. The grandchildren love to help in the kitchen so that could be fun for them!!

Mom used to have lots of them. But since I don't use them, I don't know where they are anymore. Maybe in a cupboard around here somewhere.

Oh, that is too bad... but they do take up space if they aren't used, so maybe it was a good thing. If there is anything I hate more when moving is finding things I can't throw away but never use!!

I have a collection of Christmas cookie cutters I use to make sugar cookies during the holidays. Fun shapes like Christmas trees, angels, stars and reindeer. Lots of enjoyment making them!
