It’s a Very Special Day

Today is our younger son’s birthday. We are usually in Florida and haven’t been with him on his special day since 2013.
Today is different. He’s coming to celebrate in our garage in a few minutes.
We bought him cheeses of the month for a year, Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizzas from Chicago ~ 4 cheese and 2 vegetable, a birthday cake, and of course a nice, fat, check.
We are all excited for this very special time together.
Now to turn the heaters on, open the garage door, dress warmly, and pop on our masks.

Would you believe that my son and my husband are both in cahoots? They don’t like me drinking martinis and think they are too strong for me. What do they know?!

Glad to know that, having not celebrated your son's birthday with him for the past 8 years, you'll finally be celebrating with him at this time. It would really be special because it comes at a time like this when many family members can't be together but here you are - finally having to celebrate your son's birthday with him. Many thanks. We celebrated together safely and enjoyed it so much. He won’t come inside our house, because he’s afraid he would give us the virus from being out and about. He told us he’d never forgive himself if that happened. That’s what I call love!

@LadyDuck At least you have a husband with whom to celebrate. That’s all that matters. Stay safe and healthy. We don’t see anyone now except our younger son, and it’s with masks, social distancing, and in an open garage with heaters running to keep us warm. It’s bitter cold here.

Thanks so much! He had a very happy birthday with us and later with his girlfriend.
He’s such a good kid and constantly thanks us for everything we’ve done for him and tells us how much he loves us. It makes our heart swell to the bursting point.
