Sorry, but I cannot really understand what is the problem. I remember your previous post... what now? The Mayor resigned and his resignation was rejected? This happens all the time in Italy, the politicians show "how honest they are", but they already agreed that the resignation will be rejected.

He did not resign as the city mayor. He just resigned from a special task force to monitor the covid cases.

It sounds like "stepping down" was just a ploy to make him look better over the stupid incident with the party... I think the people in your town should tell him to step down as mayor as well.

That is what I am thinking to step down as a city mayor here. He is diverting the real issue and resigning from the task force. What a greedy move for me.

@DaddyEvil I agree. I heard that he is planning to run as a senator in the future. I am sure this issue will be raised along the process.

@Shavkat He thinks he can squirm a little and people will forget the real issue. It isn't right.

Well, nothing had changed here. They are taking advantage of this pandemic situation.

I don't really know enough about your political system to comment. However, there are corrupt officials in every government.

I do not want to elaborate more about my local government system. To be safe, some of the leaders are not good at governance.

You have a point. It is not an isolated case because it happens to other countries.

As a czar, he should not have a party with people without a mask

You said it right. This morning, he is claiming that his resignation is irrevocable. Whatever he is thinking, he cannot deny that he did not follow the health protocols with this celebrity party.

Perhaps it is the mayor's attempt to avoid being caught in the law for previous offenses. For me, a public official who resigns is better. Instead of continuing to hold on, but unable to solve all the problems properly.

The good thing is he did. I hope he is still the right judgment of redeeming himself to the public. Personally, I do not care. He did an unacceptable act that can affect a lot of people because of arrogance.
