February 8 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was a very different day. It's still the day the Lord has made. Nothing takes Him by surprise, not even different kinds of days.
I'm thankful for the 9.5 hours of sleep I got last night. Even when I woke up, I didn't want to crawl out of my cozy warm bed. I turn the heat down at night. I don't need it on when I'm sleeping. My covers keep me warm enough, even when the low temps are negative where they've been three nights in a row and will be again. Our low tonight will be -10. That's not wind chill. Wind chill by 7 AM tomorrow is expected to be -25. Yes, I like being under my cozy warm covers. I've already turned the heat down as I'll be going to bed when I finish this.
I played the waiting game today. I got the FB notice this afternoon that my keys were not at the church. Tomorrow, I'll look in the car again and hope they're there. I also waited all afternoon for the mailman. He showed up at 6:30. He didn't have my new phone. I'm thankful I caught him, though I did have a note on the mailbox. He knows I don't have my keys and will let me know when he gets there. He knows what I'm waiting for.
I'm thankful for warm clothes during this cold snap. It was supposed to reach 7 today but didn't get above 3 F. The temp when I turned the TV off was 1 with a wind chill of -11.
I am thankful. Nothing bad happened. I'm alive. I have food to eat, and warm clothes. Now, it's time for me to crawl into my nice cozy warm bed.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. I tried to get a picture of the moon yesterday. It's a white point in the sky.

I am thankful the weather held out, even though I did get caught in some rain on my way home. I'm thankful my amazon dilivary arrived on time. I'm thankful it'll be warmer tomorrow. I'm thankful I got a lot of cleaning done that I'd been putting off.

@just4him I'm looking forward to it. As exhausted as I am, I'm looking forward to a warmer day. I am also happy to see the warming trend continue as we breeze through Febuary.

@kaylachan We don't warm up until the middle of next week when temps will get as high as 22. It will be a real heatwave after this cold snap.

Did you separate the keys while you were at home? If so maybe they fell behind or under something. Also check all of your pockets very well. Hopefully you find them soon.
We dont turn the heat down anymore. Studies now say it dont really make a difference as the furnace then has to work harder to warm things back up.

@just4him If you turn it down for that reason I understand. I love a very warm bedroom to sleep in.
I hope they are there and not in a snowbank somewhere.

I get a headache if I'm too warm when I sleep. I need to turn it down.
I need to lock the door when I leave, so I had them when I got in my car. They must be in the car. I'll be looking again today.

@wolfgirl569 I found them right where I expected they were since I couldn't put my eyes or hands on them anywhere else. I almost couldn't get at them.

@just4him It's amazing how they can get lost so easily. Which reminds me that I dropped a piece of apple under the car seat and meant to get it out when we pulled up but I forgot. I'll have to get it out tomorrow. I do hope your keys turn up.

Brrrr that's cold in your neck of the woods. It's cold here too but not that cold.
I'm also thankful when I crawl into bed at night for my nice comfy bed and how lucky I am to be able to snuggle under warm blankets.
We have more snow today and you would love it here. it's been snowing pretty much every other day for over a week now. I'm not thankful for the snow but I'm thankful I don't have to go out in it or shovel it.
Hope you find your keys.

Our cold snap will last until next week. I didn't want to crawl out of bed this morning either, but I did.
Yes, I would love to see snow every other day. We would catch up to our deficit in a hurry. There's more snow in the forecast for Thursday through Saturday. We'll see if we get any here.
Thank you. I found them in the car this morning.

Thank you. I just found them. I'm glad he will too, though now I don't need to worry.
I'm glad you have a home to shelter you from the weather. Are you cold there too? We're still in the negative digits for actual air temp. The wind chill is much colder.

I sure hope you find your keys today. I lost mine last week, but they were buried inside my purse. It's cold here in Michigan, 3 degrees this morning(Tues)with a wind chill that much colder. This frigid weather is suppose to hang around for another day, then warm up a bit.

That's great the blankets keep you warm enough, I usually find that the case too. Sorry you didn't find the keys at that point (though I read your latest post and know you have). That's great the mailman knew what was going on and to let you know when he was there.
