Have you heard of brumation? Thanks to myLotter, Yuki (@yukimori), and her post about the superb owl, I can now say I have. Perhaps you know the word but I certainly didn't. You can read Yuki's discussion here if you missed it: https://www.mylot.com/post/3429038/we-watched-the-superb-owl-for-a-bit-yesterday.
She said the lizards there are ‘brumating’. I’d never heard of this but, on looking up the definition, I think it fits me to a T. The Merrian-Webster definition is: a state or condition of sluggishness, inactivity, or torpor exhibited by reptiles (such as snakes or lizards) during winter or extended periods of low temperature. I’m not a reptile but the condition of sluggishness, inactivity and/or torpor certainly applies to me quite often.
When Vince was looking for a new career, we saw an advertisement for a bursar. We had never heard of a bursar so I looked it up in the dictionary and came to ‘bursa’ which said it was a fluid-filled sac which sometimes becomes angry and inflamed. We both agreed he fitted all those categories. Of course, a ‘bursa–with-an-r’ – bursar - is a business manager
Is there a particular word that you associate with? Brumation, hibernation, something else?
Photo is of us at our first cabaret – probably some 50+ years ago. Doesn’t time fly?

Yes there is a word but I cannot say it here Judy sadly.

If someone else had shared the picture, I would not have recognised you.
I too have heard such terms for the first time.
But yes, If I am feeling very lazy and tired on a cold morning day and sleeping more in a quilt, I say that I am hibernating !

Thanks. I might have some news on the sheep front shortly.

@LindaOHio It seems very popular. Is it because it's near the water?

@JudyEv The only place that I would tolerate the extreme heat and humidity would be the Florida Keys. We would love to live there.

Haha - 'brumation' sounds much more 'important' than lazy.

Metagrobolise isn't in the dictionary which I guess makes sense - in a weird sort of way.
