A trick we played on a friend

I just wrote about playing a trick on a friend when giving her a present. Another time, a friend left her car with us while she was away for an extended period. We agreed to start it up from time to time. She is very attached to her car and says things like ‘Yaris doesn’t like driving at night’. So it is very special to her.
While we had it, we took a series of photos of it pretending it had come for a holiday and was doing fun things. We placed it behind a pile of rubbish and said it was playing hide-and-seek, playing Touch with our four-wheel-drive and coming home late at night. Then we said it had an accident and showed it parked against a tree with all the doors open and the bonnet up.
We eventually made a calendar for her with the various photos. The only downside was that, when we told her about these ‘adventures’, she really thought Yaris had had an accident. I felt awful at that point as I never dreamt she’d think we weren’t joking.
And I’ve just realised I’ve told you all this back in 2016 but perhaps, like me, you’ve forgotten.

@JudyEv We played a trick on my mother many years ago. My brother had bought a drill, he faked to drill a door just to exercise, we pasted some black round stickers to "fake the holes", I rushed to call my mother screaming "mom, come, look what my brother did to the door...". She was furious, we explained it was a prank, she did not believe it was and she was sure we damaged the door.

That is a great prank. The calendar was a wonderful idea too

@JudyEv I will have to remember that idea. I would have to look for a place here to make them. But that would be a great Christmas gift

@wolfgirl569 Vistaprint, Snapfish are two we've used. I think they're international rather than 'Australian'. If you do a search, I'm sure something would come up.

I wasn't here much in 2016. I think I posted like one discussion and a handful of replies. I really didn't start coming back around until late 2020. So, for me this would've been the first time.
Careful with pranks. I feel bad for your friend.

I bet you and Vince had fun setting these scenarios up for her, though, even if she did have a heart attack at her car being in a wreck!

It's a hilarious prank to play on someone. And you were so convincing she had no idea you were joking. Well played Judy. Well played.
