Weekend trip to Eau Claire, WI coming up

Hi! It's Wednesday in my world and I am just finishing up the rest of my 2 hour shift at work (it's my Monday, but I worked all throughout my weekend, so it didn't feel like much time off) - but that's OK as I am *completely* off my main job next week. AND I have a couple of fun mini-trips and bigger trips planned in the next couple of weeks here. The soonest one is a mini weekend getaway to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It is about 1 1/2 hours from Minneapolis (my location), and we are staying at a waterpark resort in Eau Claire, WI. We are planning on going to a distillery or two, enjoying the attached pub, bowling, and other activities, doing some thrift shopping, and getting some nature walks in (weather permitting). I am kind of excited for this one because during the winter time, I hardly EVER take a vacation to another cold place. I usually either stay home or go to a warmer place. So, this is kind of exciting in a different way. It's going to be and one of my friends I've been friends with forever, but we don't get along very well after about 1 day. She is stubborn and likes to drink a lot and "always be doing something" - and I am stubborn and I like to drink a little, exercise, read, and relax. So, we have conflicting desires for sure. But, I am excited to go to a water park anyway. I can't see myself going down slides or anything, but I could definitely chill in a hot tub or shallow pool for quite some time! Have you ever been to Eau Claire, Wisconsin or the surrounding area? Or, do you have any day trips or weekend trips coming up?

I stayed in Milwaukee and Madison back in 2003 for Harley Davidson's 100th anniversary. I had a Harley back then and did some events. Your trip sounds like so much fun. Have a wonderful time.

I was still living in Milwaukee, West Allis to be exact, back when the 100th anniversary happened, and it was really cool to see all the bikes. It was VERY noisy though. lol

@porwest It was. We had tickets to get into the events. In the museum, I saw my first flying car. We stayed in Madison and drove in. I had my own Harley and had some good experiences on it.

Traveling is not an option here. One thing, I do not want to deal with travel requirements.

No I've never been to Wisconsin not to any waterparks. So, are you going with the friend that has different interested than you do? Have a nice time.

Hope you are able to enjoy. I have never been there before. I don't have any trips planned as we work a lot and just do not have the time for it plus the pandemic thing puts a halt on most things. Hate wearing the mask also every time you go out into public places.

Eau Claire is a nice town, and I think you will like it. Very cold this time of year of course, and not as much to do. But I am sure you have some well laid plans at hand. I am through Eau Claire often, have been there many times. I am from Milwaukee although I currently live in southern Illinois.
