Do you dedicate a timeframe for hobbies?

Is there a certain time per day or per week that you always use for your hobbies?
Or do you just spend time on your hobbies at random / whenever you get the chance?
Is there a set amount of money you spend on your hobbies each month?
I don't spend very much on my hobbies at the moment, but I'd like to start setting some money aside for the purpose of making mass purchases for my hobbies. I tend to do my hobbies at random / when I have a few minutes.
So, What do you do?

I take the weekends to do my hobbies. Since most of the week I am either drawing or writing, mostly drawing, that is pretty tasking on the brain and also back. So on the weekends I like to take time and relax with video games. My brain actually has a break. Nothing else gives my brain a break. I like crocheting, but my brain is still constantly going, thinking about my work and I need to be able to shut off for a little bit, and thankfully video games, especially games like The Sims helps me shut off for a little bit. Although...sometimes I am still working while I am playing video games. I need to learn to stop doing that haha!

Yes if there is something that keeps on using our brain a lot, then it is not exactly a hobby.
So yes what makes you relax is good for you !!

I haven't played The Sims in so long! I've been thinking about getting back into playing it, but when I do play I tend to play for like 8 hours or more at a time. I used to Ctrl Tab over and do some online work while I was playing the sims too, which doesn't make it as fun or as relaxing. @DesirousDreamer

@ScribbledAdNauseum My laptop does not like when I Ctrl Tab when I play the Sims 4. or I would do a lot more work while also playing. The Sims 4 and my computer do not get along, but I force it and having my art program also running while the Sims 4 is going...Pffft, no haha If I had a desktop set up, oh I would so have dule monitors so I could do both and be happy haha! But that won't happen for a long while.

Right now I dont really have time for hobbies, but before giving birth I liked doing my hobbies the same day & time per week. This way I had something to look forward to, and it would define my week. I preferred to dedicate some time in the middle of the week for this, to help me go through the working week easier!

@besweet Congratulations. I've never had a child but I've heard the first few months of the babies life is the busiest for moms.

I think dedicating the middle of the week to hobbies is a good idea. I hope you will be able to spare some time here and there for your hobbies again. Your baby is still quite young?

I use my free time to work on them. And, they are basically free. I already pay for internet and a couple of subscriptions. So long as I have a connection I can do some of my hobbies easily. Which are reading fan fiction. I used to write it, too. Not so much anymore. I also browse youtube. I also post here. However, since I earn a decent amount of money each month, this is more a job. I'm not doing it to waste time. I get enjoyment out of some posts, but I still consider it work.

I still visit ffn every few days and I'm following a bunch of stories. In-between working here, I'll either take a break with youtube or it. I like uploading on ffn, because it's a lot easier. I can write in word and upload files directly. Word is easist for my screen reader.@ScribbledAdNauseum

I used to spend literally hours on fanfiction.net reading. I wrote too, but that was on wattpad. I haven't been to either of those sites in a long time. Yeah, this site is half fun and half work for me too. Some months it is more fun, but months like this one, it's more work.

Go to facebook and look up "nose stuck in a book blog." She has a freebies list she updates every night at 8 PM EST. I have gotten a lot of kindle books free that way. Some days none of the books on the list interest me, though.

Writing is and always will be a hobby. YES it has earned me extra money for a long time, but it still is a hobby.
I have done a little more this week with Vocal so I guess I have designated a little bit more time recently for it.

I think i signed up for vocal a few months ago, but I haven't tried to earn anything there. Writing is a half hobby and half earning thing for me. My brain doesn't always see it as relaxing.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't think that hobbies are always supposed to supposed to be relaxing. sometimes they need to be challenging

@thislittlepennyearns This is true, especially when the hobby is also a career choice. You have to challenge yourself or else it just gets boring.

I suppose even when it's too snowy out to travel, you are still required to log in for remote learning time to help the students?

No time for a fixed time gor hobbies. If I can count coming here on Mylot as a hobby, then I come here randomly almost everyday.
Other things like watching movie, sports matches etc are once in a week or once per two weeks.

New TVs need me to save even more.
For entertainment, we manage through YouTube channels.

I usually work on my hobbies (reading, crocheting) in the afternoons. Mornings I dedicate to house work, myLotting and maybe phone calls to friends/relatives. I always have more energy in the mornings and like to relax in the afternoons.
I don't set aside money for my books or yarn but maybe I should give myself an allowance. I really spent too much on yarn this month.

I buy a skein or two of yarn when I go to walmart, but I'd really like to do a large hobby lobby and michael's haul!
What are you crocheting at the moment? I'm working on the pocket scarf for a friend. I have to finish it today.

As you know, I no longer craft. At the moment I am working in my word puzzle books. I have enough to last me for quite some time.

If you have a printer, I am sure you can find some themed word puzzles. I know most grocery stores carry the big puzzle books though with over 100 puzzles int hem.

Depends on the hobby, I suppose. Mostly it is when I have time for it though. My diamond painting I like to spend 1-2 hours at a time when I can. I should set aside some time to get back into jewelry making though too.

I hope you can set some time aside soon. I know you have to help Eli with any homework when he gets home so that's going to eat into your hobby time. When is there spring break? In march or April?

@MommyOfEli2013 Are you the type who likes to watch the television when it's on, or can you do two things at once? It depends on what is playing for me. Sometimes I zone completely out. He's in third grade now? I feel like that's the grade when homework starts getting more complex.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well I do spend the a couple hours doing diamond painting, and stuff like that (on days when I can usually 5 to 7 PM)...and could do it then instead of diamond painting. But I don't think I'd want to do it instead. When my husband and I are watching shows after Eli is in bed I could do some then.
Eli's homework time is a nightmare....oh my goodness! He has assignments that should take around 5 minutes, but he fights doing it....
Spring break is at the end of March, not sure if that is a good or bad thing though lol
