I Turned Down An Opportunity

It has been a week that I am thinking to accept a related mentoring job in my online tutorial company. I received a text message that I am shortlisted for the said position title. It sounds like a good one but I decided not to. There are so many flaws or issues that I have been experiencing with them for years now. Oh, yes... What a company calls an opportunity is usually good for them but not always good for you. I once had a company tell me that I needed to 'volunteer' to go to other stores and gain 'experience' working with other people. It would be good for my career. What they were really saying was they wanted me to go from the store I was working in to a higher volume store, at the same rate of pay, and take care of even more customers per day than I was already taking care of... No thanks!

That's not good for having the same rate, but more responsibility. If I am in that situation, I will not surely accept the offer. Some companies are greedy when it comes to exploiting their employees.

@Shavkat True... Yes, you need to think about what the company tells you they want you to do and then think hard about the possible consequences of those actions. Sometimes it might pay off in your favor, but that's not the way to bet, in most cases.

@DaddyEvil It is not easy to work with them. I work in their office before. It is not really organized and so many lapses. Some of my colleagues were promoted but the salary is not worth it.

I have never had any options to turn down jobs, I had to feed, shelter and cloth myself so I would take the job that I was offered even if I did not like it.

If I am in this kind of situation, I will accept it. The good thing is that I still have my current job. So I can reject the offer.

It is a good thing that I have the choices. I can not force myself to work with them because they are not organized in the first place.

@Shavkat I always tell people i mention what my grandfather told me. Pick the path you think you can follow. When you can't follow it any longer, find a new path.

@Shavkat Right. A lot of work hard to keep our life going on the straight and narrow and as easy and simple as possible. We sure do not have time for all of these curve balls coming our way to possibly mess things up for us.

@stephcjh It is best to attain personal goals. There are some hindrances but we need to handle them without any shortcomings. Pushing oneself will not be helpful.

I also cannot overload myself to have this full-time job offer. I anticipate that I will be accepted for my further study this year. Cross-fingers for this.

I am not comfortable doing this kind of job with the company. It is better to find true happiness when working in a particular company. This time, I need to let it go.
