So, anyway last night roomie comes out in a panic, and says his mother is under quarantine with Covid exposure. I had mentioned before that his stepsister had come down with it a couple of months back, and his mother babysat her daughter one day a week. They didn't do anything at that time, but now apparently her husband has it, and is very sick. He didn't mention or not whether he was hospitialized, but his mom apparently had some exposure to him. Anyway, thus far I don't think she is ill, lets hope it stays that way. He could not deal with losing his mother. I told him to maintain calm. It's a scary thing, but we have to hope for the best.

The virus is scary and nasty and we can't undermine it's potential to cause damage. We all are getting exposed in some way or the other despite of all safety measures. Keeping his mom in prayers. Hope she gets better soon.

Yes, that is the best thing. She isn't sick at the moment, but someone has placed her in quarantine. His brother and the brother's boyfriend also live in that household, but he didn't mention them.

You gave him very wise advise, he should hope only for the very best. And the takeaway is that we should always be so careful with who is in our bubble.

Yes, you never really know! The stepsister is a nurse, and surely was exposed at work, don't know what kind of work her husband does, but probably how he was exposed as well.

@snowy22315 My hubby has to go out to work, although they only do curbside and his deliveries are also done that way. I feel sorry for him, and anyone really, who has to go out to work during these difficult times. I have spoken to many nurses who have contracted covid, depending upon their age, many will ride out their long term disability until they can retire early. Its a sad way to end any career.

I feel sorry for him, I have the feeling that he would be lost without his mom.

@snowy22315 I hope she is fine, the fact to be in contact with someone positive does not mean that you get the virus.

Yes, she has to have a procedure in the hospital in the coming days unrelated to Covid. They are going to test her there. I told roomie that even if her Covid test comes back positive. it does not mean she is going to become ill. Not everyone does.

I think she will be. She was probably exposed last time, and didn't get sick.
