I just absolutely LOVE Menard's when it comes to home improvement stores. Part of it is that it's not really just a home improvement store. You'd have to go there to know what I am talking about.
BUT, I am in need of a chest freezer and later on today I will be getting one. A small one. Going to cost me around $200.
I have around $50 in rebate checks from previous purchases, and they are running their 11% rebate again. My $200 will be reduced to $178. I will apply my $50, bringing the total down to $128. I will pay for it with my Discover card which pays me 1% cash back, reducing my total to $126.72.
It is a bit of a hassle having to mail in the rebates. But very much worth it. I love saving money. Don't you?

I hate mail-in rebates. I prefer instant rebates.
My Capital One Quicksilver card pays me 1.5% on purchases. I prefer that to the 1% I used to have.

Still, the 11% is a good deal on already great prices, and my wife and I shop there enough and buy enough stuff that even though you have to use the rebate checks in store...
It is still an awesome deal. I love this store, if I have not already said so. lol

The best part is that if you shop there enough, they actually apply the rebates to the rebates. In other words, I get the rebate on the total charges, EVEN IF I use rebate checks to pay for the purchase. So it is almost like getting 11% on top of 11%. The math does not quite work out that way, but you get the idea.
In other words, when you pay using rebate checks, they do not subtract the amount of the old rebates from the total to generate the new rebate.
In this way your savings are practically compounded every time you shop there during their 11% rebate sales.

Menard's, I find, always has great prices even when they are not running the 11% rebate thing. The 11% rebate thing is really just icing on the cake. Plus, it's such a fun store to walk through. I cannot stand Lowe's or Home Depot and rarely ever go into those stores.
I wish my Menard's was just a wee bit closer. When I lived in Milwaukee they were super close. But this one I have to drive a bit to get there.
It is worth the drive though.

@porwest Of course it is worth the drive especially for the savings you will be receiving.

Oh yes worth it and great you have the rebates.
Good luck now finding a freezer.
I remember Menards in Kansas when I lived there.

Definitely! I like to online shop with a coupon of some sort and then get cash back from BeFrugal.com.

We don't have a Menard's here. Our local one is Ace hardware. I usually go to Home Depot or Lowes. Actually the store in the photo looks similar to how Lowe's front looks. You got a terrific deal there.
The rebates are always worth the trouble no matter what the amount. I've used them on purchasing tires, an expensive item and every little bit helps!
