I just phoned in a bad driver.

Periodically, I like to be a grumpy old man, and phone in a bad driver. Do you ever do that? Today, I was heading home from an errand and was almost rear ended by a woman in a black Jeep, possibly a Cherokee, if those still exist.
As she made it by me (on the right), I tried to giver my sphinx stare, but she looked straight ahead, knowing she had made a boo-boo. She then wove (or is it weaved?) in and out of other cars in front of me, and as Horse Jr. and I used to joke about, wound up just ahead of me at a stop light. Congratulations, Lady!
I was able to write her license plate number on my left hand, and phoned it in as soon as I got home, about three minutes later. She was a white woman of about 33, with oversized sunglasses (as Walnut Creek lower-middle class people tend to wear when trying to look rich) and blonde hair which could have been fake.
Do you ever phone in dangerous drivers?

Nah, they usually breeze past me too fast to see their plates. I think once we did though.

Only when I see a horse driving a pick-up truck. That can’t be safe!
I have done that once, when someone cut me off in a semi. Right on the back of his rig was a sign: “How’s my driving?” I called and told them how his driving was.

Too bad we never get feedback about our efforts. Actually, a British-sounding woman DID call me back one when I reported an as*hole van driver who who was (dangerously) driving elderly folks around in Oakland. I gave her the details. I hope the sombish was fired.

In California, I have watched armed gang-bangers go through stoplights as if they weren't there. I have watched women who were not allowed to drive in their "country or origin" terrorize regular American motorists in their new Teslas. Can you understand why I sometimes want to spend the whole year in Montana and just hide there? Maybe I could learn to enjoy eating deer.

No, not that I could. I think those who can, should. But, bad drivers make me glad I can't drive. Because I would not want to have to be behind the wheel of one. Though, George and I weren't very happy about the driver, who claimed to have gotten into an accident, blocking the Aldi parking lot one day and boxing us in. My husband is very good at driving out of tight spaces, but it's not something he enjoyed doing.

@TheHorse I would want to avoid bad drivers, too. It's scary how easy it is to get a license.

Most of the time people here ask not to show online their name if you search a plate... I also did, for safety and privacy reasons.
About Cherokee... yes they exist and they are asking the white men to stop using the name of their Tribe for their stupid cars.

No I have never done that, because the dangerous ones usually get away too fast! I have wanted to though.
But your tags raise various other questions such as
'Should men be allowed to drive?'
'Should anyone under 30 be allowed to drive?'
'Should anyone over 80 be allowed to dive?'
'Should humans be allowed to drive at all?'
and of course why are people so risk-averse when it comes to activities like sky-diving, yet so blase regarding driving, which is far more dangerous?

@TheHorse I think my points were more logical. For example men are typically more aggressive drivers and take more risks, especially the younger ones. Older people have slower reaction times. And in humans in general, their brains do not fully mature until they are about 30. But what happens to women between 30 and 40?

I would most likely let the driver go. The driver would most likely has a very very veryyyyy important place to go that he/she couldn't wait. I hope he/she won't fall into a ditch as I won't be stopping to help. Not to mention, I am not interested to be a witness in case anything as well.

@TheHorse I think for me, the reason I don't call is because of how many times in my life I've been that jerk that is driving like an a-hole. I wouldn't have wanted someone calling in on me, so that's why I refrain on calling in on somebody else.
