I Can't read the expiry date

I have this sachet of shampoo that I bought the other day. Upon opening it, I noticed that the consistency is not the same with the usual. It's not silky but it's like a curd. The scent remained the same but I just tossed it the garbage because I hesitate to use thinking that it may take my hair fall off. I looked at the expiry but I can't read the numbers printed tinily. I think I really need to have a fit for an eyeglasses. I also noticed that the print in the sachet is no longer the same to what I'd use previously. Must be an old stock.

I once got a big bottle of tomato ketchup on discount. I was happy to get the price and didn't check the expiry. Back home, I opened and used it. It's then my daughter checked the expiry date and found that it was going to expire the very next month. We could not use all of it by then and a lot got wasted. Now I make sure to check the expiry date.

Things especially on discount usually have their expiry hmjust around the corner. It's kind of disposing off

@ZedSmart We need to check the expiry date and make sure it is far and we can consume the whole volume by then.

Yes, when we buy volumes because we might not be able to consume until that given period of time.

I bought toothpaste some months ago and noticed that the expiration date was long passed, I did not notice that when I was buying it. I used one tube of toothpaste because I couldn't find a new one in stores but the second one I threw away after finally buying two new ones, whose expiration date is Dec 2022. Now I know to always check the date on toothpaste before buying it.

It's really important to check them out. I usually I do that to food items but I missed for this shampoo.

@ZedSmart I never used to think to look at expiration date on non-food items but now I do. The toothpaste didn't seem the same as it always was. Maybe that is because it was past its expiration date.

Usually it is written diplomatically with embossed writing so we have to touch it.

@ZedSmart There's no way they sell it expired in less than a year. Use a magnifying glass if you are not sure.

@May2k8 The consistency is not the same with the rest of the shampoo that I always used. There must be wrong with it. The seller might overlooked the stock and still made it available. Only one item though.

Exactly. If not for the texture, I would not have doubted it.

@ZedSmart I think you should now start looking at the expiry of every item you purchase

Speaking of expiry date, I had same scenario where I need so much lighting just to see or read the label.

It is possible that it was an old stock and the printing faded.

@ZedSmart This is my opinion and surely stored in a place with too high temperature.

Must be an old stock and wasn't noticed by the seller.
