Prince Harry

Not that anyone in America cares. But when people relinquish a “title” that was for all intents and purposes useless anyway! … you sort of wonder what they're going to do next! It's just a curiosity. So? Harry actually went out and got a job?! I mean … King Edward didn't do that. He abdicated his throne for that divorced American woman who seduced him ... blah blah blah. He was banished to The Bahamas to live out the rest of his days with her. What a punishment! LOL. "The Firm" must really be pissed off with Prince Harry. He wasn't banished. He left of his own free will. How dare he? Somehow I picture Harry doing this to "The Firm". He's probably teaching his kid how to do it too. They are doing everything they can to be famous and be in the news... I will say nothing more about those two.

I don't think they are "trying" to be famous and stay in the news at all. But I do know they would be thinking unrealistically to believe they could just remove themselves from "the public eye". The news media would never let them live quietly and in peace anyway. I can hardly stand in the checkout line at the grocery store without seeing several magazines with some sort of story about them. Tidbits about the royals sell lots of newspapers and magazines.

@cmoneyspinner They do not want to remove themselves from the public eye, if that was the case they would have not accepted to be interviewed. Badmouthing the Royals is a sure way to get attention and this is the right time to say to a nation that she has been "a black discriminated girl"...

The Duke of Windsor was the Governor of the Bahamas during World War II, he lived out his life in Paris. He was a Nazi sympathizer and they wanted him out of Europe to minimize the damage he could do during the war.

@cmoneyspinner The punishment was not being allowed to return home with his wife, and that was very effective.

@BelleStarr - I totally get that. What I don't get is him being a Nazi sympathizer. I don't think they punished him enough! But since I wasn't born yet, nobody asked me for my opinion.

I stopped following the history on King Edward once I read that he was in The Bahamas. I couldn't figure out how that was supposed to a "soaking for being naughty". Oh well! The Bahamas or Paris. Island of clear turquoise blue waters OR the City of Love? I still say ... what a punishment!

In fact their news lately makes me feel bored. They are no young children any more. They are already lucky enough and shall ask for less.

Who's "The Firm"? And how do you think he'll do as a 'CIO' at BetterUp (whatever they do)?

I don't think so. I find the royals boring bit for some reason I took a shine to Harry. I sort of gleaned tidbits about him long before he decided to marry Meghan. I have actually picked up bits and pieces about him ever since he was a little kid. He's not afraid to work. I'm just guessing but he strikes me as not wanting to be like his father and he wants something productive that he can really do!

@cmoneyspinner I think both boys inherited a strong humanitarian streak from their mother. I hope he does well. It can't be easy for him.

He should keep his title and get it back and simply go on hiatus!! Maybe Megan markle can do some more acting and he can too!

He gave up the title but that doesn't affect his kids. They would actually still be in line for the throne. His son was born in England. But his next baby will be born in America. Imagine. An American sitting on the throne of England. It could happen. That's probably what got The Firm so upset!

@cmoneyspinner I wish he would get his title back! It just ain't right that he's not a Duke any more!

“Why, that lowlife! What does he think he is, a commoner???” — the palace. Next thing you know he’ll have a tattoo and be photographed wearing a Kid Rock t-shirt.

I haven't got the foggiest idea what a "chief impact officer" is and does. Can you please explain?

LOL. I saw that "title" and thought: "One useless title for another? Oh well! It's a steady paycheck in it!"

Is he even qualified for this position?

Probably. Since the duties and responsibilities were probably "tailored" to suit his KSAs (knowledge, skills, and abilities). And by the way, he won't be the first person that ever had a job created for them. That happens in corporations all the time. There is a son, daughter, nephew, niece or other family member and they need something to do! But who wants to hire them? Who will hire them? Probably nobody. You think it was easy for Caroline Kennedy and the late John Kennedy Jr. to go looking for a job? I was surprised when the daughter of George Bush Jr. got a job as a talk show host.

Printed in the Wall Street Journal no less. So you know it's real and reliable reporting! Not like those bogus stories printed in the tabloids.

I guess you have a leg up getting a job when you're an ex Prince.

Of course you do. And you can't accept the job and say don't tell anybody because the company that hired you wants to tell everybody! And what's wrong with that? After all I see announcements about hiring of executives and managers, promotions, etc. for the employees coming on board who are not even famous people. For sure company execs are going to toot their horn if they hired an ex-Prince! It gives them a leg up too!
