Do you usually say 'Hi'...

... to your neighbors? No, not really. The only people that I say 'Hi' to the owner and her family members of our rented apartment. My family and I do not bother to know the other neighbors. It has been more than a year that we are living here and we had seen their bad sides. We do not have any plans to know them better. The phrase applies to "The first impression lasts.'' Unfortunately, the bad impression stuck to our minds about them now. How about you, guys? Do you usually say 'Hi' to your neighbors? Image Credit: wixmp.com

Below of our unit, an old man loves to gossip. My mother confronted him not to spread any information that is not true about us.

@cherigucchi Perhaps they can perceive me like it. But then, it is not the basis for treating me differently.

Sometimes if I do not want to have a long conversation with the landlady, I just smiled at her.

i walk a lot, my path frequently has common parts every day. The first couple of years, virtually no one ever said hi to me. Now, i know more than 1/2 the neighborhood!

I will say hi to you now. The old house that we had lived before, we have known them since birth. We need to move out because of an inheritance issue. In this new place of ours, we need to secure and stay away from the neighbors. They were not good since we came here.

@Shavkat that is always hard - plus with the pandemic, it is now more of a wave and distance conversation than it used to be!

It sounds like a good community. If I could only go back to our old place, I will do it. My mom and I were talking about moving to another place because we can't live with these neighbors at present.

In my old neighborhood, we had known them for so many years., It is normal to greet them. Even if we do not speak to each other that much, they knew our family and the same thing with them.

I like to be a neighborly person. With these new neighbors of ours, I cannot do it. They are not sensitive enough if they are disturbing us with their bad actions in the community.

@Shavkat ; I understand what you are saying. I talk to a few here and that is all because I really do not want to get too friendly because then they can use what I tell them against me. I would like if we could keep to ourselves but there is one here that will not let us do it and makes up stuff.

At my trailer, I would say hey to some of neighbors. When I get all moved into my uncle's house, the only neighbors I will say hey to is my great-aunt and my great- uncle.
