I am at war with Kitty.

Over time, Kitty trained me to feed her inside. At first, she was welcome inside for snuggles and sleep, but was fed and watered outside. After a month or so, she trained me to keep some water inside, in case she need a water break from her naps and grooming. She used the raccoons as an excuse. They washed their hands in her water after stealing her food.
Soon thereafter, I started feeding her inside at night, so the raccoons would not steal her food. During the day, food was available in both places. Eventually, she trained me to feed her inside only. But now, I have put my foot down.
During the day, I'm feeding her outside again. Of course, she is resisting. She will sit at my open front door and meow at me to feed her. But there is delicious Meow Mix in her bowl outside. She won't touch it.
Last night I held firm and she actually ate from her outside bowl before going prowling. But she got back at me by meowing to be let in at 6 AM, rather than her usual 4:30 AM.
I will NOT allow my life to be controlled by a blasted cat. I am a human and therefore at the top of the food chain! She has to learn that I am her owner and not the other way...wait. Where is she? I have to check and make sure she's OK.
Who do you think will win?

. Could be the story of our cat.
He was the neighbour's barn cat. He wasn't having that and moved over here. Hubby built him a house. He used that for a while, and had his food outside
Of course, we kept trying to entice him to be petted, and cuddles and to come inside.
For winter he had a bed in the garage (complete with a cat door so he can come and go)
Things progressed to him insisting his water in the house be in a dish under a plant, that his dish never show the bottom, and the moment I sit anywhere he sits on me. I am furniture!!!
This past winter he started peeing in a pile of sawdust in the garage instead of going outside. We had to get him a litter box!!6 people like this

@TheHorse It was -30°C and he was peeing in the sawdust under the saw. Hubby took it away when the weather warmed up, and we removed all the sawdust.
There was a blizzard thus week and he refused to go outside again. I am sure that next winter, he will have a litter box for the season. What a nuisance. He has been so good about asking to go outside when in the house.
Your Kitty will win too

Be her owner in spring and simmer and let her have her way in winter.

But you have to admit our kitties can be really cute even if we do fight with them once in awhile right? They always know how to melt my heart once they are around already

I have absolutely no doubt that Kitty will win. It reminds me of my Sid when we settled in Florida, He was used to roaming in and out and suddenly I kept him in and then he made the rooftop his paradise to contact with his Papa and so there he won and even showed me he could climb palm trees but now I am content that he is with his Papa

Kitty will definitely win. Cats aren't like dogs. She will rule the roost.
