Did you ever?

Did you ever get startled awake and have a hard time going back to sleep? Yep, happened to me last night. About 1:45 hubs got up for the bathroom, says he tripped on something. It woke me up, with a headache. He seemed to go right back to sleep, although he claims he did not. I know I did not get back sound asleep except from 3:45 to 4:30. Still have that headache. We will see how today goes.

You must have been concerned that he hurt himself.

I don't like when I get startled awake. I do wake up a few times through the night anyways but to be startled makes it harder for me to get back to sleep. Hope your headache goes away.

I had a low grade headache all day. I am sure it is lack of sleep. Tomorrow will be better.

I find that meditating before sleeping has helped me sleep better. No more waking up in the middle of the night and having difficulties going back to sleep.

The “startled awake” wake-up is the worst. Hope you get some rest today, and get rid of the headache.

We got up at 3.00 am because we couldn't sleep. It's now 4.00 am and Vince has gone back to sleep. Maybe I'll go back to bed soon.

@GardenGerty Yes, we did that. One of us often whispers 'are you asleep' and invariably the other one is.

It happened to me sometimes and I drunk valerian tea so I could sleep well again.

I had a terrible day yesterday just for that reason. The only good that came of it, is I sure slept last night. Until 4. Today will be a long day, but at least I feel rested.

Yes, if I wake up in the middle of the night, it takes me around an hour to get back to sleep. I'm not sure why, except my brain stays active.

I hope your headache goes away. I sometimes wake up in the early morning about 3 or 4 and then I have to do some reading to try to get back to sleep When I do wake up again I am sometimes a bit fuzzy headed
