Good News on the mower

So, I had mentioned on here I bought a riding lawn mower about a month or so ago, but I thought I had broken it by bending the blade. The good news is it fired up today and cut with no problem! I was sure I was going to have to buy other blades and get the guy out here to work on it..I did put new gas and oil in it, and set the choke lower so that made a difference in terms of performance...Thank God! One headache resolved..

Good to know you didn't bend the blade on the new mower. That certainly would have been a headache.
I haven't resolved any headaches but I did listen to a friend who is going through some problems. Sometimes all you can do is listen.

The guy I know who has dementia is not in good shape..pulled out his cather amongst other things.

That was another thing I did was added some oil. I had parked it on kind of a slope before and I think some of the oil had leaked out although there was no evidence on the ground. I could hear a dripping noise though.

@LadyDuck I just added oil. That gauge was very hard to read, but it looked like it was down oil.

Nope.
My head hurts lol , the new garden is one huge long lasting headache.

My mower did fire up first pull of the rope though.

Yay, glad you solved it! Hubby got a new headache today with his air compressor. It wouldn't start and then he noticed the pull string is about to break. After looking closer as to why it isn't cranking he found the filter falling apart. He really needs to take one day a month and do maintenance on all his toys!!

Thanks, yes I was losing heart I decided to try one last thing before I started ordering parts and making phone calls and that did the trick. I also read a bit and watched a youtube video. One of the things that was happening was black smoke, and I think the motor was sputtering stopping because the choke was set too high. I corrected that among other things
