Robotexts

"Can't phone! Text Me."
I got that message a few hours ago from a strange number, underneath the text was, 'Robot Messages'
I wasted a bit of time trying to trace the number, but found nothing from the internet, so in the end, I just deleted it as junk.
Have you ever received robotexts? Guess all the ads from big stores are classified as robotexts too? (I got plenty of those, but the senders' names were always very clear.)

@YrNemo I never receive spam calls. The landline phone comes free with our Internet connection and we have free unlimited calls to Switzerland and all Europe, why to renounce? There is an answering machine attached, if I do not recognize the number I do not pick up.

That's strange. I have received something like this but did not mention robotexts. I received multiple text messages that say you can email me and they provided their email addresses. I don't know the senders.

@YrNemo I did not email them. Firstly, it was a suspicious email address and secondly, why they know my mobile number? Hehehe

@MarshaMusselman You could be right there. (Everything is automatic these days, they could just program it.)

ah, so those spam calls are called robocalls (no one is there when you answer the phone), correct?

I get them from time-to-time. One popular scam that came through the other day was related to usps and a package. With a short link. Yeah, I know better than to fall for that one.

Pretty signed up for something online and since she doesn't have a phone, she gave my number. Every time I get a text and I don't recognize the sender, I forward it to her email and delete it from my phone. I hate getting texts from numbers I don't know. I've asked her not to do that and she says they aren't supposed to text her but...
Every time I start to delete those, my phone asks me if I want to block them... since she says they aren't supposed to send texts, I've been telling it yes, block those numbers.
