April Full Moon

I saw the most beautiful full moon tonight, which I think was dubbed a pink super moon. As magnificent as it was, there was nothing pink about it. But it sure was pretty to look at. And I’m surprised, I didn’t have to deal with a lot of crazy people today. Usually the crazies come out during full moons. I’m certainly not going to complain.

Will you also have a full moon where you are? I always wondered if it was different in the northern and Southern Hemispheres.

@moffittjc probably, I didn't notice. I think there's only one moon :-) so ys, I guess we are the same. We're a day ahead of you here in NZ

I read an article on that the other day. It said the full moon is actually going to be Monday night. And it was named Super Pink Moon for some kind of flowers that are blooming at this time and that the moon does not take on a pink hue or color. Weird, huh?

@moffittjc I agree! Maybe they had a little too much to drink the night they assigned names to the moons? I believe most of these names were given by native Indians. That would make sense too

Well that makes a lot more sense. But they sure do confuse a lot of people when they assign colors to the full moon. People expect to see the moon turn that particular color.

Such a shame. The full moon is always beautiful to look at. I hope the rain and clouds clear out for you so you can gaze at the full moon!

I agree. Looking at the full moon also makes me realize that my problems are nothing compared to the vastness of our universe.

@moffittjc I always enjoy looking at the moon. It always happens in the early morning on my way to the Y when it's still dark. I'm in bed before the moon is up at this time of year.

So is there a full moon going on right now in your part of the world? I have always wondered if a full moon in one part of the world equates to a full moon everywhere.

I wonder why it is called a pink moon if it is not pink. I do not recall seeing a full moon yesterday but then again I wasn't looking up at the sky.

According to some of the comments on this thread, it’s called the pink moon because of some pink flowers that bloom at this time of the year.

I did see a Full Moon Monday. We were walking off the golf course as twilight was upon us. I didn't see any crazies out except "us" playing golf in darkness
