I peeked in on the baby birds today. They were sleeping but I decided to take a photo anyway. If you look closely you can see the three beaks. Mamma bird was out getting food for them I presume. I saw her going in and out of the nest a couple times today. Hope you can see the babies. Photo Credit: © 2021 Karen Gros, All rights reserved

I copied the photo in a graphic program, made the dark inside of the nest lighter and now I can see the babies very well.

I can see three yellow beaks there. Haven't got a bird nest at our place for a while now (we cut down all the big trees around.).

@YrNemo I doubt it since those are low to the ground. You never know though!!

@kareng We rented the property out to tenants at the time, and they complained too much about this and that. So the big trees all had to go. (I just planted two big lemon trees, do you think some birds will make nests on those trees?)

I see them. I used to have some that nested on my porch, a couple of times but I really didn't care for that. I was afraid they would get in the house.

We have had swallows come down the chimney and get in the house here. These fireplaces where built before dampers were put in so they were open when we first moved in. We have closed up the area now so no more birdies for now anyway.

I couldn't see the baby birds but I assume the white grub looking things would be their beaks.

I guess they wake up as soon as she appears. I can't help wondering if sometimes she has to hang around until they wake up.

That is a good question! I was just thinking a few minutes ago that they have been sleeping the last few times I have checked on them. Maybe tomorrow will be a little action!! We will see!

@kareng I'm pretty sure I can see them, either way if my eyes are correct, they are so adorable! Birds are so clever building their homes. Great photo!
