Other people's dreams

We have taken our pet sheep, Solomon and Harry, to a new home about twenty minutes from us. The place is very, very pretty but much hillier than our own 18 acres. They have a huge dam which is home to, among other birds, a number of shelduck/mountain ducks. These are now much more common than they used to be when I was a child. There was also a pair of black swans on the dam. They nest on a little island at one end.
On the edge of the dam is a large, old caravan. The side has been cut out of it and comfy lounge chairs installed facing the dam. A deck has been built out from the caravan and the whole thing is under the shade of big trees. It was an ideal place to spend hot summer days. Some people have such good ideas.

Sounds like a great place. How many acres do they have?

They have 130 acres and it's all lovely and green. There are some areas left as bush and their property is recognised as a 'wildlife corridor' for native animals and birds. Our neighbour has this recognition too. They have to pass certain tests to be given this recognition.

A great place for Tourists. People can come and see the birds. They can bring food and tea/coffee and enjoy the nature.

Are those Chalets costly or reasonably priced?

I hope your sheep do not miss you too much, but perhaps, they will be too busy enjoying the new scenery instead.

It sounds nice. Spending hot summer days next to a water body in a shade and watch those birds would be heaven. People can be really creative.

That's one way to resuse something. You're right that does sound comfy.

@JudyEv So you were ready for another rest by the time you made it back to the house? I hope they served you something cool to drink while you rested.

@DaddyEvil Haha - we drove down and back! But yes, we had coffee, scones, jam and cream. Very nice.

That sounds like such a nice area to just relax for a little bit and reflect, so lovely! Of course, I would not be able to relax because once I see ducks I get very excited haha love them!

It is such a lovely setting. They aren't much younger than us but I hope they have a long time there.

@JudyEv it would be, although I prefer to be above the water on a boat!
