Hi guys,
Hope everyone is safe and doing good in life. I am doing good too. As you all know I love food and am a foodie. I like to eat homemade mango pickle made by my mom.
I don't eat many pickles. Some of them which I eat are lemon pickle and mango pickle. My mom makes it quite often and I enjoy it with dal rice mostly.
Do you guys like eating pickle? How often you buy it? Let me know. Have a good day. Take care!!

I don't buy it. My mom makes enough pickle of all kinds..few varieties of mango pickle, jackfruit pickle, chilli, lemon and bamboo shoot ones. I get enough to last for a year when I visit her. Last year and this year, I could not visit her. Last year, I made green chillies pickle on my own with mom's direction. I don't buy pickles.

My husband loves them when we have sandwitches, but apart from that, we don't eat them.

I really find it strange that Americans don't eat pickles. I thought pickles were invented to keep foods available in all seasons. So mango is available in winter even though it does not grow in winter. Pickles bring down so much work at our end. Some days when we don't feel like cooking or there is nothing at home, we just boil rice, use pickles and curds.

I never tried pickled mango. I don't make one but I am okay to buy in the grocery if available.

I too like homemade pickle. My mom was also perfect in making it. But now she is not with me so I am missing her. I like most of pickles. Mango, chilly, lemon, kair, and some more, Indeed pickle which are available in market is not healthy one, if some one saw process of making , they never think to eat these

Oh, my! You eat bloody pickles!
I've never eaten any but have heard about them a lot. @vandana7 loves to eat them but she had to see the doctor because she was eating too many of them.
Poor doctor.

I love it too. Pickles are for longer time. Chutneys are for shorter duration. Basically, in pickles, the fruit is cleaned up and dried, and more oil is used. Mustard powder is one of the common ingredients in mango pickles. Plenty of it. Chutneys have less oil, and in some none at all. And mango is not dried in the sun.
