The image is one of two chairs that I had rebuilt and reupholstered.
I had someone near my old place who was supposed to re upholster and retie the springs on these chairs. In five years he did not do it. He went out of business and we picked up the partially stripped chairs.
On recommendation I took them to a place in Wichita. It cost four times as much, but they have all new foam and padding, and they are nicely done. It cost so much I have been making payments for six months. They would not even start until they were almost completely paid for.
We picked them up today. I am very pleased. They were antiques when I bought them (very cheaply) close to forty years ago. I believe the wood is mahogany.
They are wing backed chairs but they are situated very close to the floor, not the more western high leg style.
Now to train the cats not to claw the fabric.

They want to claw just one of them. I have covered it with blankets. May cover them with sheets for now.

I got these chairs about forty five years ago, and they were antique then. Good craftsmanship. The wood part held up very well.

@DaddyEvil I paid thirty-five dollars for the pair originally. I hated the upholstery on them but it was new. These chairs survived me being a home day care provider among other things.

She never cashed the checks until the work was done. It was a large sum for us to come up with. This is a business that has been in business locally a long time. The other guy, I would not have paid in advance.

@GardenGerty I didn't know it repels fleas. Good to know. I use a prescription for my cat but I know fleas can hitch rides in on pant legs. My kitty is an indoor all the way cat.
