Roomie and I were just talking about summer camp. We both went to camp when we were kids. He only went for a week, but I went for two. I also worked as a camp counselor one summer in a camp for disabled kids. That was quite the experience. They both were. Did you ever go to summer camp when you were a kid? Did you enjoy it?

Yes, lots are scout camps, but there are also church camps or day camps. Some are just camps for most of the summer that rich kids go to, or fat camps for overweight kids. Some are sports specific camps too, basketball, soccer, tennis etc.

@snowy22315 It's okay. Both my brother and I learned at a young age to take care of one another. I use to be angry about how things were for us but looking back I see it made the both of us hard working adults all of our lives, so good came from a bad situation. When we were both in our late 30's we were able to make peace with our Dad and we all had a great relationship until he passed. Our mother on the other hand still wants nothing to do with either of us or the both of his kids, her only grand children.

I've never been to a summer camp when I was little, because my school never held an event like that, you must be very happy to have attended

Nope I didn't. Family didn't want to send me away since I had epilepsy until I grew out of it at 18. I'd have been miserable though since I was such a shy kid.

I always enjoyed camp. I went to a summer immersion arts program one time too, and that was fun as well. It wasn't camp but we stayed in college dorms.

They are quite popular here. Roomie was just telling me that the kids his mom has been watching are going to camp this summer.
