What we made today

I’ve added a photo of part of what we did today. It’s an Ikea storage unit which has four wire baskets. It was quite cheap and very easy to put together. We had ordered two of these but the frame of the second one is missing so we’ll ring them Monday and see if we can sort it out.
We have also made a five-drawer unit which will support one end of our new desk assembly. Tomorrow, we’ll finish off making our new desks. After that, there will just be the big, built-in wardrobe to assembly and put in place. Before we make this, we have to remove the shelf and clothes rail that is already in place. That might be harder than installing the new one.
We will be installing double clothing rails and sliding mirror doors along with some glass-fronted drawers. It should be quite an improvement. I’ll keep you posted.

Those Ikea storage units are very nice! Plus they have venting, so they're not air tight. This is an excellent feature!

@kobesbuddy Thankfully, we rarely have trouble with humidity and/or mould.

@JudyEv The venting will keep things all aired out, even in storage!

@louievill Any marriage needs patience and tolerance - and compromise. Sometimes I think I do most of the compromising! But that's a joke!! I guess there will always be rough patches from time to time. I'm glad you and your wife are heading in the same direction.

It will hold quite a lot. The frame was actually very cheap but we're hoping they'll believe us and not make us buy another one.

I like your storage especially with the baskets.
Sounds like things are coming together and putting all that stuff together is keeping you busy. It must be fun though to have a new house to decorate

It is quite enjoyable but there still seems to be a lot of things that I haven't found a home for.

That is a great looking storage unit. Such units come in handy. Looks like you have quite a lot of Fitting and related work in the coming days and a lot more to share here!

Yes the mirror doors would be tougher to handle but since you know the tricks or should I say
"Tricks of the Trade", it should go well.

We are on to the last of the units - for the moment. We're fitting wardrobes in the bedroom but they have mirror doors so are heavy and a bit tricky. Last time we installed them in Donnybrook we broke two of the mirror panels but we think we know the trick now. lol We'll see if we've learnt anything when we tackle the doors later today.

@oahuwriter Thanks. We picked up the frame today and have finished that set of baskets. They were very good about it and didn't give us any hassles.
