Not a fan of group text

A group text is great if you want to send something to more than one person. But then what can happen is that people in the group will start to have conversations amongst themselves, back and forth, one text after the other, as if you do not exist. And instead of sending their reply in one text, they will send many texts to say that one thing. i.e.: txt 1: yes; txt 2: txt 3: that sounds great. INSTEAD OF txt 1: yes, that sounds great. Each time a text comes, you will hear a beeping sound or whatever notification sound you have set on your phone. That becomes very annoying, especially if you are trying to concentrate on something or are trying to sleep. Happened to me many times. Because of this I try to stay away from sending a group text. If I need to send the same thing to more than one person I do it individually.

If it's get annoying, I'll just mute the chat.

You can always mute the notification or keep your phone on silent if you are sleeping and getting disturbed the beep sound.

Very much so. I am gonna look into muting notifications. I don't want to disable group texts because sometimes something important can be sent and I won't receive it.

@LadyDuck By mute do you mean just not hearing when the notifications come or does that not give you notifications at all?

I absolutely loathe group texts. If I find myself in one (as a recipient of someone else's group texting), I immediately contact them and ask them to delete me from the group. Or, I delete myself out of the group if I can. And if someone says, "But it's important information that you need to know," I just tell them to send me a summary at the end of the day. lol

I don't send texts at all. I have a basic flip phone and hardly ever use it.

Just like me, I don't like to send group text because it can ruin my reputation unknowingly. Have a nice weekend

Group texts don't bother me. I don't do them often, but they save me time. I've also learned, I can remove myself from the group or mute notifications for that text thread.

Yup! My sister and one of my nieces send group texts... and then when I reply to it someone always texts me and tells me I sent them the text instead of the person that sent it. I get tired of explaining what "group text messages" means to them. *sigh*
