Passwords (so frustrating)

Happy Friday Everyone! another gorgeous day here this morning.
I was going to sit outside and enjoy my coffee but figured I would call the insurance company first because they are leaving messages that my bank account number is wrong.
I really thought this was going to be easy but I should have known better. Going over the banking information was quick and easy but the girl told me I need to log into my account online to sign up for ebills and epolicy. Doing this would give me a 5% discount. I'm all for saving money even if it's a small amount.
Right after hanging up I tried to log into my account and it kept saying my log in or password was incorrect.
So I had to ask for my information which they sent by email.
What do you think they send me? the exact user name and password that I tried putting into the login.
So I gave it another try and it worked.
????
I wasn't doing anything wrong as I could see what I had originally put in as both my user name and password. The exact same thing they emailed me.
At least it worked and I was able to sign up for the ebills, etc.
I hate technology!!
Now I'm having my coffee an hour later than I expected.

5% is definitely worth the aggravation. I could have been aggravated for zero

I prefer facial recognition over passwords for my banking app.
Its just 1 less thing to have to wrestle with.
I have alot of customers that lock themselves out of their online banking and then call me to have me reset their password and provide them with a temporary password and instructions on how to use that, get into their account and then get to the screen where they actually key in a new password.

I'd probably be one of those customers you would have to help Since I'm a dunce when it comes to technology I'm sure facial recognition only works through a cell phone?

@Marilynda1225 Yes, facial recognition only works when using the app on your smartphone.
I have no problems helping people with a reset, I try to give exact directions, 1 at a time so that they are not frustrated, and they always get in and then it is all over with and they are back into their account.
Its the agents that give them a temporary password, tell them to write it down and then tell them to have a nice day that bother me. A couple of minutes of patience is the least we can offer each other.

@Marilynda1225 Not at all, I just put it differently. I'll post it some time I expect.

I set up my bank account so I could check it online. Every time I try to open my account, it tells me I used the wrong password. I call the bank, tell them my password and they agree it's right. Then I can log in... I think they do it to know how often someone is using the online access.

@Marilynda1225 Being able to do it when the bank is closed is the entire reason for having a password. If I just wanted to know my balance and when deposits went in, I could just call accounting during business hours.

that might be the case or if they want to make sure it's you who is trying to access the account.

I experienced that a lot of times so what I did is I record everything in my little booklet in case I forget.

Passwords are the bane of my existence. I just seem to have so many..although I do try to save them with a pword program so I don't go nuts.

Isn't it crazy that it didn't work the first time. At least it finally worked and I got it all sorted out

Maybe they realized they hadn't updated but did so when you when sending the password. I've also been very frustrated with passwords.

It happens to me often, too, and I always think someone hacked my account.

I also write them down .
And I set passwords which are easy to remember but hard to think of.
Password should never consist of name of yourself or your closed ones or date of birth or something easy to guess.
Simple passwords like a thought or quality say for example CrazyBird$567.
It is simple to remember but hard to guess
Such passwords are safe
