How our new bookshelves look now

Jim Bauer (@porwest) commented recently on our new but empty bookcases so I thought I’d put up a photo of how they look now. I still have some organising to do of the books but at least they are now all out of their boxes. It is always one of my favourite tasks whenever we move. I really enjoy restacking my bookshelves. A couple of the CD shelves are empty but I guess they won’t be for long.

I really like those book shelves. I miss having bookshelves full of great reads. I told my son when I re do my walls this summer, I am tempted to get rid of the buffet and get bookshelves to line the wall.

@JudyEv My mini house is 500 sq ft and will be tricky without overwhelming. After I finish my walls with wood, I may put a floating shelf that goes around the room.

@noni1959 Our whole land and house 300 square metres or 3,230 square feet so we do have a lot more space than you. Most of the area is house as there isn't much yard here.

Restacking the bookshelves is my husband job... he is picky how to place the books and in which order, I know he would not like "my way".

@Tampa_girl7 They do indeed but I'm hoping to get rid of enough books that the rest will all fit into these shelves At the moment, I still have quite a few in the 'old' bookshelves.

I just dust along the front from time to time so it isn't too onerous. It's not a dusty place here thankfully.

We had just one set of CD shelves but then found we still had a lot of CDs so we bought another set of shelves. They look good side by side.

Yes, mostly. I have them arranged in subjects/categories although some big ones wont fit in the shallower shelves.

@judyev I love that job too. We’ve got 6 book cases and I’m quite fussy about which books go where. A house move is also a great opportunity to blow away all the dust that accumulates around books. Glad to see you’re getting organised.
