So...kinda..I am a die hard lover of cakes.
I want to make pancake...
I have this measure
160 gms flour
1 table spoon sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
vanilla essence..
2 eggs
1 cup milk
and
1 tablespoon oil
I am confused whether we need to use that oil in the yellow of eggs in which I have to add milk or is that oil only for applying on pan...
HELP.

JJ is right. When the recipe is written like that, the oil is added to the pancakes.
IF the recipe says to hold the oil for the pan, then the oil is to keep the pancake batter from sticking to the hot skillet.

@vandana7 That video goes through steps you don't need and make no difference to the pancakes when they're cooked.
The powder ingredients get added to the bowl first and then add the liquid ingredients. The eggs don't need to be separated at all. Just break them into the bowl after adding the liquids. Then stir everything together until the batter is slightly lumpy. (Lumps in pancake batter don't matter.)
The skillet being used in that video was a non-stick skillet so didn't need any oil added to it. (Did you notice, after the video showed the person spreading the oil, that the video went back to the skillet and there was no oil in it?)
You will need to make sure the skillet is hot before you drop pancake batter into it, though.
I would have found a recipe that was written, not shown in a video.

I tend to think the oil is in the pancake mixture. Can you check a different recipe?

I checked a few, and got thoroughly confused. The third recipe ..the lady said ...no need to fluff up the egg whites .. instead add eating soda also to the mix. Grrr. I don't have eating soda at home...I mean, if I have it at home, I would end up making some of the stuff here, which makes me fat. I am already fat.

@vandana7 eating soda makes you fat.. really
, but adding eating soda is best I guess it gives nice fluffy texture to pancakes

The oil is added into the batter, with all the other ingredients. Then, a light amount of butter(oil) on the hot griddle:) Enjoy!

I would think that the oil is for the griddle or pan or whatever you call it.

@myklj999 — what do I know. If I need pancakes I go to Denny’s for a free stack on my birthday.

NO, there is no oil that must be added to the eggs, only the milk... those are the instructions you find under the ingredients:
- Add the flour, sugar, baking powder and vanilla extract to a bowl and whisk together
- Separate the egg whites from the yolks
- Add the milk to the egg yolks and whisk together, add the mixture to the flour and mix
- Beat the egg whites and add them to the mixture
- Add oil to a pan and pour about a tbsp of the mixture
- Return the pancakes when bubbles start to form at the surface
You only need the oil to grease the pan and cook the batter.

To me, it looks like the oil goes into the pan. That's what the video shows. I'd check another couple of recipes.

Reactions differ. In some recipes you need both.

I think that most of the oil will be to help fry the pancakes. Your recipe seems to have rather a lot of baking powder. Here's a recipe for English pancakes (which are thinner than American ones and don't need baking powder). My mother never used oil in the mixture but these days, it seems, you do.

If you mix the oil with the rest of the ingredients you just need to rub a little oil in the pan for it not to stick then you scoop the batter in the pan once it is in med heat. and turning it over for a few minutes and remove and pour again to make another.
