My Heart is Breaking Yet Again

The photo above is of my son Dustin. He was sitting on the table of my best friends at the time, and his godparents. They are Catholic and volunteered immediately to be his godparents. His godmother actually made these little Halloween pj's he has on.
After Dustin passed, I have stayed in touch over the years. They are my family. They live in another state and it has been many years since we have visited. But have talked on the phone.
Got a call in April that he has bone cancer. Waiting on bone marrow results at the time. Now, just two months later, and after two chemo therapy treatments, he is not doing well.
Has been in the hospital for three days now. His blood count stays low, even after receiving blood and platelets. His blood pressure is so low, he cannot get out of bed.
And today the doctor said his body is shutting down. My heart is breaking.

@CarolDM That is so quick, much quicker then my cousin's was.
She started to limp and complain of a sore hip, saying that the baby was lying on it when she was about 6 or 7 months along, she went thru chemo and radiation. She was gone before her daughter's first birthday. One of my sister-in-laws worked on the floor that she was on at the hospital, and she told me how very sad they all felt when her hubby and baby girl would come up for a visit. A hospital is no place for a little one to spend their first year, and she does not even remember her mother.
Cancer is terrible.
