So, how hot was it? (hear the voice of Johnny Carson you can look him up on YouTube, former long-time host of the Tonight show)!!! It was so hot that the Labrador Collective had their bags packed and they were ready to move out! Hoomans, I was told are good for two things. Food and air conditioning. We recently had to switch the LC to senior food (that was not well received) and yesterday we had no AC in the house!

Did you turn the AC off on purpose? I won't turn it off even when friends come over and complain about it being cold! (I keep crocheted lap rugs draped over the back of the couch, just in case. I'm not going to be uncomfortable in my own house! ) I hope you're comfortable now. (I'd tell the dogs they know where the door is if they complain too much. )

@DocAndersen Oh! Your compressor froze up on you for a while? That happened when I worked in a factory, years ago. It felt like it took forever before it thawed and came back on.

@DaddyEvil The water sensor (auto-shut off) got wet from a spill in the basement. it shut the furnace off.

We also have no AC in this house. The cats sprawl everywhere. Some would take sleep under the trees.

do you get good ventilation when you open the windows? Our house, even with all the windows open the air doesn't move! so AC is mandatory!

My birds enjoying some grass seed.
It's the middle of winter here. I turn the central heating on for my birds, who I know do not like it too cold either. They love to get warmed up, as they do not need to fluff up their feathers so much then too. That's a great picture of your dog. I could have used it for my lab story....lol.... Picture: My birds enjoying some grass seed. I pick it for them on my walks.

@DocAndersen Yes, they love it. (The seeds, and the warmth) The breeder we bought them off told us the particular grass seeds that they like. I like to see them happy, enjoying themselves. I try to make their lives as happy as possible for them.
