Doing it Again ~ Breakfast for Dinner

Bacon, baked in the oven, grits with butter and a fried egg for dinner. With toast as well. I always enjoy breakfast for dinner.
This is a favorite combination. Always had this meal growing up. And it is still delicious to this day. Sometimes I leave off the egg. Sometimes the bacon. Many times just a bowl of grits.
Cooked it all today. And enjoyed an early dinner. Going out for a ride around the neighborhood soon. Maybe the park.
Snapped a photo of my dinner. Could not finish the bacon by the way.

Jay introduced me to grits and eggs, 31 years ago in August! And I still love them, just as much:)

@CarolDM Every time we visited Jay's mother, she'd cook a large pot of grits each morning, with biscuits. A couple times she made corn bread, it was wonderful!

You couldn't finish the bacon?
That's unheard of in my circle.
I may have to report you.
I make breakfast for dinner a few times a month here. I do some type of egg, bacon, biscuits, toast or pancakes, fried potatoes with peppers, onions and cheese and fruit in the oatmeal.
My mom used to do this.
I may do this tonight lol.

Everything sounds delicious, except for the grits... Those always felt and tasted like sand to me. (Mom got so mad when I described them that way.

@CarolDM Mom didn't make them often... maybe once or twice a year. Maybe she didn't know how to cook them.

@DaddyEvil I won't say that. But maybe you just don't like grits. They are not for everybody.

Breakfast for dinner is always a good choice.
I rarely eat a big breakfast but yesterday we had a big breakfast (probably more like brunch). We had waffles with maple syrup and bacon. The only thing missing was orange juice.

I love breakfast for dinner. I always bake my bacon, too. It stretches out better and gets done without a terrible mess all over the stove. I also get requests for biscuits and gravy, eggs and hashbrowns, and pancakes. You just can't beat breakfast for a good meal.
