Normally when I get Dakota's Pride baked beans from Aldi, they are good. Not Bush's Best good. But they do the trick and they are cheaper.
Had a can with dinner last night and I thought they seemed like they weren't fully cooked. They were somewhat hard and chewy.
Oh well. Cant win them all. I got a bad batch is all. But I will still eat them. Waste not, want not, and it's not like they were totally inedible.

You could have cooked them a bit longer and they would have become soft instead of eating them hard.

Sorry those beans were disappointing. Usually the stuff at Aldi is good.
I don't like to waste food either

For that reason alone I will never buy anything other than Bush's baked beans. But I'm glad you didn't let them go to waste.

We buy Bush baked beans regularly and love the different varieties. The vegetarian, that's our new favorite.

I avoid canned beans and prefer to buy them raw and fresh for cooking. The secret is to soak them overnight in a bowl with water and the next day to place them in a saucepan or pressure cooker to cook. It will take less time to cook and they will be soft and fresh without artificial preservatives.

We like Bush's Baked Beans. I doubt that hubs would try Aldi's brand. In fact, we may visit Bush's location in Dandridge TN (either TN or GA).

I go with Bush beans. You can't beat that Bush family. Just goes to show you Republicans know how to count their "beans."

At least they made you full is what I think when something like that happens to me. But then I know what to do for next time.
