Lost Weight

*Pokes head out of hole I've been hiding in* I haven't really been hiding in a hole. I have been gone for a week, however, and so it's likely you guys may have thought I was hiding. I was sitting on a pet. That was quite the adventure. He was more evenly tempered than the family told me he would be. He had one quirk which is barking whenever someone sneezed. I got him out of that to some degree by looking at him and saying "NO" right after I sneezed and before he could bark. He did go on a 1 AM adventure wherein I had to chase him around with a leash. That was an easier catch than I had anticipated. I could go on and on and on, but let me address the title. Last week's diet consisted of protein bars, tuna, pork rinds, a couple of slices of pizza (cheat), tacos, and hamburgers. I averaged about 5 carbs per day and lost about as many lbs. YAY! For those who are concerned, I still gained nutrients over those days. How was your week away from yours truly?

Hello! Welcome to myLot! I hope you enjoy your time in this crazy farm as much as the rest of us do. I need to look around and find that link to the myLot Terms and Conditions for you so you can start off right on this site... Until I can find the link though, you can do anything here you'd like short of murder... but, as long as you can make the murder sound funny, you can even do that. If you have any problems, you can talk to @GoAskAlice (His name is Mr. A.) and he'll clear up the problem for you.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I thought you were just going to ignore my teasing. I'm glad you lost some weight while you were off gallivanting with someone else.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That's super..I have been watching what I eat..but am not gonna put this into high gear until the fall when I can start walking again. That will spur some weight loss for sure.

I've had a few crazy dreams myself, but don't remember enough to really write them out. Thank You! It taught me that I need to stop eating the chocolates at night. I'm 10 lbs away from my Normal BMI.

@snowy22315 Yes, gosh it's been so hot here! The minute you walk out the door you're assaulted by humidity and fogged glasses. I can't wait for the fall as I intend to walk a lot more too. Taking the MCT Oil helps I think, but I am going to stop having chocolates every night going forward.

I'm glad your week has been good to you so far! Last week I stayed away from starches which helped me a lot, I think.

I had wondered how that went! Maybe that bark was his way of saying "Bless you" . Well I hope it was all easier than expected for you. Ah, the keto thing is working (I think it was keto, right?). Well, it's always nice to chat with you - I'm just glad you're back .

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yah, a break every now and then is good. I guess it can be that way about a lot of things in life. That's actually quite impressive. Sometimes they don't really listen when it's not the owner giving these comments. I guess he understands no is no!

@much2say I was told to use a firm tone with him. I have the habit of using lighter tones with animals, but he especially responded to my firmer tone. Might just be in the tone.

I am back and actually feeling like mylotting whereas before I did not. I guess the week away was good for me in many ways. He barked incessantly though, so it wasn't just one. It did seem like a concerned thing. He was quick to listen when I said no, so either someone is trying to get him out of barking when they sneeze, or he's just good at following commands.

I just have to stop myself from eating those chocolates I love. They have a lot less sugar but still not good to eat every night.

I have spent the past Monday (not yesterday, the previous one) at the ER with my husband who had suffered a heart attack. You can imagine that I had a pretty difficult week, not really exciting.

@LindaOHio They can be the sweetest things. I am partial to cats just slightly more, but maybe because you have to earn their love. Dogs love you from the very beginning.

Glad to hear that he was more evenly tempered than you were told he'd be. I bet that's a relief! Congrats on the weight loss! That's great on the carbs. I am back on low carb myself, but not getting that low!

I was impressed with how low I went carb wise last week without meaning to. It was actually nice to get that low because I was avoiding some of my bad habits (like chocolates every night)

@MommyOfEli2013 I feel like I am so close, I just need to do better. I'm wearing a shirt that I wore a few years ago and looked really fat in. Today it has a little more room to breathe.

It is all about trial and error and finding what works for you. I consider my diet a lifestyle. I stay away from starches, eat more protein, higher (good) fat and less carbs.

It's good it isn't affecting your weight but frustrating when you want to lose a few lbs. Try to avoid dairy and sweets for a little while as that can stall the weight loss.

Yay on the weight loss! There are times when I just peeled the toppings off of the pizza slices and threw away the crust, but it's not terribly satisfying to do that. Are there any decent protein bars out these days? The ones I used to buy are no longer being made.

Quest bars are kind of gross, but I eat those. I use atkins bars for breakfast and they are delicious. There is one quest granola bar I like.
