Coffee Prices Are Going Up

I drink one cup of coffee each morning. And I look forward to that coffee. I read a news story today about coffee prices increasing to a six year high due to frost in Brazil. Add this to a long list of things going up. Before the frost came a drought that parched the 2021 crop. The story is below if you are interested in reading. I placed an order for coffee today. Trying to get ahead of the increase. So many things are going up in prices due to the economy we have now. That subject is for another day. Either way, just letting you know yet another product is increasing in price.

My favorite coffees aren't even in stock lately. One of those is a keto coffee so I can't say I blame people for buying it up as it's already expensive to begin with.

@CarolDM I hope the freeze will thaw soon but I imagine the raised prices will persist for months as they struggle to yield the same amounts they are used to again.

This one hurts. Coffee went up a year ago here and shelves were empty. It's just now getting back to normal. I'm going to buy bulk before the increase and freeze the beans. I know the much higher fuel costs will add to the pain.

Inflation is running rampant in Joe Biden’s America. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) found that in June, consumer prices increased by 5.4 percent on an annualized basis. From May to June, consumer prices increased by 0.9 percent. In January 2021, before Joe Biden took over the presidency, annual inflation was at a stable 1.4 percent.

Yes inflation has hit for many reasons obviously. Pipeline shutdown, higher taxes, the list goes on and on.

I haven't noticed, but they were quite low for awhile. I have probably enough coffee for the next two months..so it is low on my list of priorities right now.

I remember in the mid 1970s, coffee prices went through the ceiling! I don't know why, but maybe for the same reason, either freezing or a drought.

They sure are!

But we got products to buy. Walmart, got good prices for most things. I wanted to get healthier snacks, like no sugar added dried blueberries, pick me up, I fainted looking at prices... beyond sticker shock...1 pound going for $29.99 plus shipping.

Price of everything is going up not only coffee and it's really hard when an employee doesn't get that much hike in the salary the rate with which the prices increase.
