You know, I will salvage just about anything. You should see some of the casseroles I make. Holy moly!
I am sometimes literally the epitomy of some of those cooking contest shows in my kitchen.
"You have sheep's balls, rotten bananas, alien potatoes, and raisins with olives and pimentos in your basket. GO!"
But this cream cheese we had leftover in our refrigerator is not fit for man nor beast by any stretch of the imagination. It is promptly going into the garbage can where it belongs.
Ham rollups with pickles anyone? I am frugal, but not stupid.

@porwest There's no telling with the crap they put in our foods these days.

I try not to throw away anything. If I am not sure that I´ll like it, I ask Luna if she will. The only thing my dog has not eaten has been an over ripe strawberry I gave to her as a treat once.

I would not eat this cream cheese even if life depended on it.

@porwest Yeah, that's a little shocking. If you see some mold on a piece of bread, do you throw it out or do you just cut off the moldy part and eat the rest? I sometimes do that. Depends how moldy it is and how the mold looks.

@lovebuglena These days I would just throw it away. But there was a time when I would have cut around it. lol

Are you sure you can't cut away everything but the center and still have enough for a ham roll-up or two?
I sometimes use a green onion instead of pickles.

I try to buy things that I need these days and not what I want.

Sometimes we get stuck with something that goes bad; but I'm sure we all try to avoid that. That's some bad looking cream cheese.

At first it looked like a semi-good chocolate something or other, but you are so right to toss that!
