More photos from the weekend

Here is another collage from the endurance ride that we attended on the weekend. It was held in Merredin, Western Australia. Although the weather was warm and sunny, the mornings and evenings were chilly and the owners of the property kept a great campfire going. As you can see in one of the photos, a lounge suite, purchased very cheaply, made great seating around the fire. The fire itself was contained in the end of a large cement mixer, the type that would be carried on a truck. There is no house on the property, just a huge caravan which has been ‘built in’ to the area and given a verandah. There is a flushing toilet and shower, and a sea-container which holds a great many items which came in handy on the day. The top two photos show two dogs made of farm machinery scraps. The bodies are springs. One has a hatchet for a head and pieces of chain for ears and the other has a hammer for a head and spark plugs for ears. One tail is half a horseshoe and the legs are horseshoes. The shadow in the lower right photo is me taking the photo.

It was a lovely setting. We were camped in open woodland with pasture out to the left.

I like the two "metal" dogs, those sculpture made with scraps are interesting. Good idea to place a large campfire to warm up people, this place looks great.

@JudyEv Such a big fire is pleasant during the colder months.

Such a big fire meant the heat penetrated some distance out from the fire.

I did not identified the dogs, I am not familiar with breeds of dingo dogs Humor apart, I find these rural sculptures interesting, kind of authentic art by a self taught. I prefer dogs to horses anyways

Some rural sculptures are very imaginative but some I find pretty awful really.

Our state has no restrictions at the moment but things could change very quickly. We have been very lucky but we have also all obeyed the lockdowns when they were imposed.

@JudyEv Ok. Glad you had fun at the show. Locally, Delta raging, over 500 yesterday covid-19 cases, so limited gathering implemented again.

@oahuwriter Delta has almost taken control in our eastern states too. They are really battling to contain it.

@JudyEv News tonight, Gov. and Mayors meeting, to discuss what to do. Today over 300 covid-19 cases, hospital at or near capacity icu beds. Doctors requesting 1 month shutdown. Then my tv froze. Got a text service outage from Spectrum, my cable people. But, it came on in 49 minutes.. Tomorrow news should have the next step. My eye glasses, might be ready this week. I'll give my optician a call to see what to be done if shutdown occurs. Hoping he'll call before a shutdown occurs.

You're welcome. The collages are a good idea I think as I don't have enough to write about otherwise and I can share more.

I certainly wouldn't call the dogs beautiful but I admired the imagination of the creator.

I like the looks of the metal dogs. People can be so creative. The place had great amenities. How nice to be able to snuggle up inn front of a fire on such comfortable furniture,

Actually, I didn't see anyone with marshmallows. What a waste although they would have needed a long stick if they weren't to get burnt by the heat.
