Yay, We Have Electricity!!

Well that was a BAD storm. The wind was horrible and you could hear it blowing everything around and limbs hitting the house, etc.
Thankfully we do not have any damage to the house and didn't have any trees come down but the yard has many limbs down and it looks like Fall is over with all the leaves also covering the ground. I would say this is going to take a couple of weeks to clean up the yard. But thats okay!
Our electricity was restored a few minutes ago. We were not looking for it to be back on so quickly as the whole town was out of power. We took a ride yesterday down the road and had to detour to get to town due to a huge oak tree down which took the power lines with it. There were numerous other trees that were down along our road, but locals had already been out and cut them up and cleared the roads.
We are very thankful that we had no major damages. Word from neighbors in the subdivision where our house in Louisiana is located are also saying no damage there. They are still out of electricity and water.

I'm glad a power outage was the extent of your damage from the hurricane. A little yard clean-up is good for you. (I'm glad you're both okay.)

@DaddyEvil Since we have a heat advisory tomorrow, I'm not in a hurry to get started. I may work on a path to the chicken coops but that will be about it.

@kareng Just don't over-do... you don't want to end up going to the chiropractor after you're done, either.
You're welcome.

How nice that you got your electricity restored so quickly!
Not so nice that you have a mess to clean up out in the yard.

@moffittjc Exactly right. I told the man earlier I was going to light the fire. He said I thought you were not going to work outside today. I told him I'm not but I am lighting the fire to get the pile down.

@kareng That pile is not gonna just burn itself! Somebody’s got to light it.

@DocAndersen Yes, it is. I was going to stop and offer to help her clean up on my way back home but she had already left.

Not fun not having electricity, especially when there's no natural light.

I'm glad you are safe and sound and that your power is back on. Ida was a terrible storm.

I'm glad you are safe, and you had your electricity. It's hard to cook without an electricity.
