what didn't post earlier -- work freebies

Earlier this week I was able to get cartons of milk, some prebaked biscuits from the bakery, more hot dogs, grab-n-go premade sandwiches from the deli (ham sandwiches and roast beef/cheddar pinwheels), a Suja sparkling juice, kombucha, sliced turkey deli meat, sliced cheddar cheese, a container of chicken Adobo from the hot bar, chocolate cherry brownie bites, and a chocolate silk pie from the culls areas at work. My kids love these brownies, despite the fact that they have ground flax seed in the batter. They'll get used in their lunchboxes, as well as sandwiches made from the turkey and cheddar. The premade sandwiches have all been eaten at this point, the sparkling juice was drunk, and we used up the biscuits last night as part of dinner. All of these things would end up in the landfill if employees weren't given the opportunity to take them home! I was really excited to find the brownies and the pie.

Some days I don't find very much, but sometimes I stumble on quite the bonanza! It really helps my grocery budget.

A lot of things were things I needed too, like the milk and the deli meat and sliced cheese!

It would be a shame to waste that food that is a big help for large families like yours. I am glad you got all this.

@spiderdust If it is free it is a shame not to bring home.

I do think I'm going to slow down on bringing home sweets for a little bit, as we now have plenty for lunchboxes!

So you finally wrote the discussion again... I'm glad it didn't disappear on you this time. You made a good haul! Now, I'm wondering if you aren't treating your kids too well...

@sjvg1976 Yes, she wrote a discussion yesterday that ran away... I explained what might have happened to it and have been waiting to see what she had written about in the errant discussion.

I forgot that you could get freebies that were getting tossed when you worked there.

Sometimes I feel guilty about getting the free things, but then I remind myself that they'd likely just end up in the garbage if I didn't take them home.
