It could be worse

I need to give a bit of backstory here before getting to the point. Our younger son is a jazz musician who has lived in Ireland since the last 1990s. He hasn’t had a gig or any other work for 18 months. Last weekend, he had three weddings over the two days. He was due to start a job teaching music in several schools as well as lecturing at a university for a semester. So things were looking up for him.
We face-time regularly and often play a game together on our computers. We didn’t expect a call this week because of his workload but he did ring tonight. He felt unwell before starting his classes on Tuesday, was tested for COVID and was found to be positive. Thankfully, he had been vaccinated and he assures us he is on the mend.
However, positive thoughts, prayers and crossed fingers would be very much appreciated. What a rotten thing this pandemic is.
Photo of our two sons in more carefree days. The younger one is on the right with his brother next to him.

Wow to make a living as a musician is quite the accomplishment. Prayer sent.

@FayeHazel He rang last night and said he's back to 90%. And his wife tested negative so we're all breathing sighs of relief. Thanks for asking.

He probably got exposed at one of the weddings. If it is like here, they will cover for him and he can resume his job once healed. I am sorry that this happened though.

The weddings were in the north with not a mask in sight so that's probably right. He won't lose his jobs but it's just so unfortunate.

Well, what scary news that would be for any parent! I do hope he has a light case and recovers quickly.

He said he has had worse flus so I hope that's the case. It's not what you want to hear, that's for sure. Thanks for the good wishes.

Oh my, I'm sure sorry to hear that. Hopefully being vaccinated and at a younger age, he'll recover soon. I'll certainly pray for him.
Such a cute photo. I hope this horrid virus won't interrupt his work too much.

I am glad things are looking up for him now and that it sounds like he will be very busy. i am so sorry what happened to him just when he was going to start working again. I am so glad he is on the mend and that is a shame that he is vaccinated and now getting the virus. Thank you for the picture of his earlier times when he was a kid with no worries that he has now. I bet it must be frustrated for you and Vince what happened to your son just when he is getting on his feet again.
